night trains could be heard throughout the night. Dont bother booking breakfast inclusive as selection is extremely poor and it is much cheaper to eat out in a cafe or restaurant and have a proper fresh breakfast for similar or less price elsewhere. room ok for the PRICE.
I slept here for one night because of work. The position is the only positive aspect I’d say. But hey, I suppose the budget and the characteristics match, so I wouldn’t go on with details. The only thing that I found really unbearable: the windows. They wouldn’t close properly and the cold air came inside the room...
I stayed here for a few nights on business after my colleague booked it, so I did not see the reviews on this site. You should skim a selection before deciding. There are many pros to this place. The location is fantastic. It is near a subway station, and the canal area two blocks over is a lively nightlife spot - we spent every evening there. It is a straight, easy walk to most of the main sightseeing spots. The nearby Sacred Heart Catholic university is worth checking out on its own. If you want to use the trams, they run right outside. The room is basic, a bit dark, but the shower worked fine. The cons? My colleague complained about the noise of the trams, but I had earplugs so it did not bother me. The rooms are small and need updated, but open the shutters and the gloom disappears. Breakfast is a slightly dark, dismal affair. A very limited selection. The staff don't speak much English, which is fine as not may British hotels have Italian-speaking staff, but it can mean some travellers mistake lack of linguistic proficiency for 'rudeness.' Any request I had I could communicate. I'd go back to the location, but perhaps try another hotel next time.…
I would recommend for anyone on a budget looking for somewhere with loads of bars restaurants and easy access to the city centre. We were 6 males aged from 30 something to 70 something on a weekend for football and drinking with a bit of tourism thrown and it suited us down to the ground. Warm welcome when we arrived and they made a special effort to get all 6 rooms ready by 1.00pm. Breakfast is limited to continental but enough choice and good coffee. Rooms were a bit varied but all clean and housekeeping worked. I had to raise an issue about air-con and it was fixed on my return to the room. Would happily go back there again.
A small hotel opposite Porta Genova train station, a few meters away from the metro stop. It is good for a short, budget stay. Small room, however the bed is comfortable. The small fridge was unplugged and I didn't bother, as I needed the plug for my laptop. There is also a safe and a wardrobe. Breakfast is basic but not bad. Staff is polite. Room door opens with key (not card) which you have to leave at the reception whenever you go out. The hotel is at walking distance with Naviglio Grande and the restaurants and shops of the area. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to be at Navigli area at a low budget.
Great location, clean, pleasant staff. Depending on the type of stay and your reason for being in Milan, this hotel works well. If it had a total makeover, it would be perfect and by far, more expensive. Good enough if you are travelling for work and/or need a convenient location.
Myself and my friend checked into this hotel for 2 weeks in November last year. Our main priority for a hotel was location and this certainly didn't dissapoint. Right outside the hotel door was the metro station, bus stop, tram stop and was a mere 5 minute walk to the Navigli canal. Our room was spacious and cleaned regularly. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Special mention to Stefanos, the daytime receptionist and Peter in the nighttime. Nothing was too much trouble for these two and they made our stay easy and comfortable. We will definitely book this hotel again and i have already reccomended it to other people looking for an affordable stay in the beautiful city of Milan! Thank you for making us welcome!
This hotel has great location. Our room and bathroom were tiny. Bed was uncomfortable and we suffered from back pain. The entry to the shower enclosure was narrow and the holder of shower head was broken. Breakfast was simple and the same every day (croissants, boiled eggs, ham, salami, cheese). No one will offer you coffee or tea, you have to ask. The staff was neutral. I think they do not like speaking english. I think the price is not equivalent to the quality. I would not stay there again.
I like to read other reviews to see whether they match with mine and some of them are really on target. Basically, it is a typical old fashioned continental hotel, which needs some serious renovation. Without a doubt, this hotel was probably good in the late 1980s, but the rooms are now way dated with furnishings in desperate need of prompt replacement. As in one of the previous reviews, part of the door frame was missing exposing the concrete. The walls in our room seem to have very little insulation so we could hear our neighbors blasting their music. Fortunately for us, both nights they either went to bed or out at 11pm. The bathroom was particularly tiny and ugly, the towels were indeed small. However, the bathroom, like the rest of the room, was substantially clean. As for the internet connection, it was not working properly in our room. Out of of the three desk staff we encountered, the woman was the absolute worst, it was not very clear whether she knew what she was doing, for sure she couldn't make us a cappuccino to save our lives or hers! Overall, breakfast was quite simple, the problem is that there is not enough variety, don't expect much and you won't be disappointed. We chose it for the location, we could go to the bars by the Navigli and Darsena. Indeed, this hotel is in a great location, a 5 minute walk to the Navigli puts it in a great spot. It's also just outside the green metro line Porta Genova exit. This puts you just 2 stops away from the Malpensa airport train. Overall it truly felt more like a hostel accommodation rather than a 3 star hotel. It's not terrible but the location alone doesn't make it a good stay, at least it didn't for us. For sure, we would not stay there again.…
After killing several roaches upon arrival told the front desk agent who brushed it off...advised I would be checking out because of the bugs he said the reason didn't matter..are and access to city were good but bring spray to feel less creeped out
