Super attentive staff and a lovely hotel all round. Very welcoming and rooms good, bathroom clean and nice hot shower, valet parking a plus as Milan is very busy. Dinner was good but nothing special for the price which would be our only negative but again it is Milan!
I have to admit, this hotel wasn't on my list when researching Milan but the reviews I read lured me in. This was a treat! Charming from the minute you walk in. The service at check-in was fantastic (both the bell captain and front desk) and our room redefines the word "charming". The bar room in the lobby also has a vibe like I've never experience before - something like 'mini modern castle meets Allison Wonderland meets Fashionable MIlan'. We used the spa and hamam which were also elegant, clean and relaxing. Should I mention that its a 10 - 15 minute walk from the major sites. If you're looking for something special, unique and charming I wouldn't look anywhere else. A true treat to stay there.
This hotel is so special and the staff are just incredible. They have a passion for serving guests to the best of their abilities. Thank you for everything! Room was beautiful and cleaned every time we left it seemed. A memorable stay and I would love to visit again some day.
Excellent service all around. Especially at the front desk which always took initiative to help us and solve any issue the room was super Super clean and hotel had great wifi and air conditioning! Thank you
This hotel is part of the Relais and Chateaux group. This means it attracts a lot of Americans as they clearly use such accolades as guidance in choosing their accommodation. However, it also means a lot of loud people and wasted food at breakfast as they seem unable to moderate their portion sizes to what they can actually eat rather than what they think they can eat. The hotel is about fifteen to twenty minutes' walk from the centre of Milan and the duomo. If you arrive in Milan at Milano Centrale, don't bother to get a taxi (not that we could when we did as they were all on strike!) but get the no. 9 tram which leaves from Piazza IV Novembre to the north of the station (remembering to buy your ticket first from a tobacconist) and alight at Piazza Tricolore. The hotel is twenty yards or so from the tram stop. There are currently road and excavation works ongoing immediately in front of the hotel for a new (and hugely behind schedule) metro line. They start up around 7am. Our room overlooked these works but we were never disturbed by them. The room was individually decorated (the animal motif for ours was owls) and the bed was very comfortable. Not the most spacious room but I suppose fairly standard for a European city centre hotel. The bathroom was compact but entirely functional. Both were spotless. We stayed on a bed-and-breakfast basis. The self-service buffet was well stocked and frequently replenished. Hot food can be made to order. There are plenty of restaurants in the environs of the hotels for evening meals and the hotels has its own restaurant as well, although we did not eat there. One night we decided to have a drink in the hotel bar before venturing out. The prices are outrageous. We ended up just having one soft drink each (I don't expect to have to pay nearly 30 euros for a gin and tonic!) which cost nearly 20 euros . When we advised why we were having soft drinks and not staying longer, it was suggested that the hotel had to recoup some of the losses from Covid somehow!! Not by fleecing your customers it isn't! The reception staff were always attentive and helpful. Housekeeping starts early and each day we returned from breakfast to a label saying that they had been to service the room but had been unable to. If that happens, just let reception know when you leave for the day and you will return to a spotless and serviced room. We left this hotel rather underwhelmed given the five star rating and other reviews on this site. Don't get me wrong: this is not a bad hotel. Not at all: we have stayed in far worse. But for me, it does not represent value for money.…
The hotel was impeccably decorated and designed. Wow! The lobby, bar and the spa area especially. Rooms were spacious in European standard and the service was also fantastic. Staff also went above and beyond to treat my wife and I a great honeymoon stay (especially because the airline had delayed my wife baggage for 2 weeks!). Will be recommending this hotel to family and friends.
Fabulous staff, it was a special birthday and they were absolutely amazing. Would recommend this. Staff were exceptional. Could not do enough for us. Beautiful hotel and it’s more of a boutique hotel. Definitely worth a visit. It’s about a 20min walk to the main Cathedral but taxis are available at a very short notice. They recommended restaurants and booked them for us. Thank you to all the staff.
We travelled from the UK and stayed at the end of June 2022 for a four day city break, booked with Booking.com. The Chateau Hotel offered exceptional customer service, decor and attention to detail. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice, well presented and fresh. The concierge services were constant from door opening, the moving luggage. Lifts provided access to floors supported by wide decorated staircases. The bedroom was beautifully decorated with lotions/potions provided in addition to slippers, robes etc. Bath and Shower were hot, powerful and refreshing. Bar drinks were a little on the pricey side (e.g 16 euros for two Ice-teas), but the setting for the drinks made up for the premium. 15-20 minute ride from milan Linate Airport and about 20-25 minutes walk into the centre of Milan (pizza Duomo). There is restaurant across the street and further restaurants on the walk into the centre. A local mini supermarket and Farmacia are readily available for 'essentials'. A tram stop is outside the Hotel, taxis are readily available and can be requested from reception. We booked our 'to and from Airport' journey with Booking.com and the service could not be faulted. We found the evening menu limited at the Hotel so chose to eat locally both for variety and also for the 'local' experience. We didn't have a bad meal and generally paid 15-20 Euros for a main course. Needless to say, coffee shops are everywhere for a quick break. We visited the Duomo Cathedral and pre-purchased tickets from the website. This allowed us to skips the queues (recommended). In addition we visited the Castle, the Galleria Vittoria, La Scala and the Milan park. All within walking distance of the Hotel if you have good walking ability. Most days we walked about 6-7 miles although it didn't feel like as there was so much to see whilst walking. Lake Como can be accessed as a one-day train ride (2 hours each way). We didn't do it as we ran out of time. We could not have felt safer in the area and we walked at night as well as daytime. The local population were welcoming, appreciative and encouraging of attempts to speak Italian and we don't think we have ever seen so many beautifully dressed people in one city. We love Italy so will no doubt be back!…
Wonderful stay, highly recommend!!! Breakfast is delicious, front desk very polite and helpful Spa area is very nice,a pool and sauna, a relaxing area with fruits and tea 20 minutes walking to Duomo Car parking is expensive,35 euros
Great hotel with really helpful and attentive staff. A really lovely spa area which is worth an hour or two while you are there. Nice location, particularly for Linate airport. Very good breakfast selection. Highlight was dinner in the restaurant - incredible food. Highly recommend.
