The positives. The hotel is clean. The staff are professional. The amenities are what youd expect. However I have a few personal qualms, which I have personally voiced to the staff. Namely the fact that misleading notes have been left at our door "inviting" us to take drinks from the mini bar. It would not be free but some may believe so, so it's very disappointing from such a 4 star hotel. My other issue is the "turn down service" which simply leaves napkins on the floor...a room service menu on the bed...and two small chocolates. Not the turn down service Ive come across. Very disappointed that the room is disturbed numerous times and the hotel pushes for mini bar sales. Its a pest. Very helpful and professional staff at the front desk, taking my complaints. But its important for the hotel to realise that these "scams" for want of a better expression, are not what I expect. I wont be staying here again, unfortunately. Nothing has been done to change my mind.…
Its end of Match, spring has sprung, its 22 degreed outside (74 farenheit) but the AC doesnt work because the hotel considers it still winter season and doesnt let you use the ac, just heat is allowed. So in the room its 24 degrees (78F). No chance of cooling unless you crack open the window and let all the dirt from the construction site right in front of the hotel and the noise and exhaust fumes from the heavy traffic at the traffic light also in front of the hotel. That sounds like a 2 star hotel, right? Well, the rooms are ok, bathroom nice but the lack of flexibility for changing your room (at a hotel with 13 floors) was ridiculuous. Keep in mind there’s no parking. If you have a car, just forget it. Milan is a city of cars and some mopeds but what that means is pollution, traffic and NO parking. Might have a better chance if winning the lottery than parking on the street. Btw NO PArking signs are everywhere but no local abides by them or any traffic laws. Just find another place to book and save yourself a major headache ( from lack of parking, noise and polution).…
The hotel is located literally in a construction zone and right on a super busy street with lots of traffic noise. Very bad location. Unfriendly personnel. Overall, not a pleasant experience. Avoid. Book elsewhere. There are so many other options. Dont be fooled by the “good” reviews.
I booked 2 room for 2 nights using my American Express platinum card. coming from Switzerland on 8-3-2021. The hotel was in a construction area. Staff wasn’t friendly at all. The room was hot because A/C temperature was controlled by the front desk. The refrigerator in our room wasn’t working they sent someone to check it at midnight. The worst has to come is that my money of $8000.00 was stolen from the room safe. When i called Mr. Borracino and Mrs Alice Phone 02305131 hotel manager he said no one has the combination of the safe except the gusset. Then he gave me email address to send a letter explaining what happened . Also my backpack was opened and searched for any more money to steal. I continue with my trip to Venice for 4 days. My hotel manager in Venice try to help me too. He called the uptown palace hotel in Milan spook with them in Italian no answer were given. He then called the police in Venice and advise me to make a report before departing Italy to France. I did that and send the report to the hotel in Milan. Never got any reply yet.…
Amazing location, the hotel is very close to M3 station (metro) and very close to Duomo. Clean with excellent reception. This is my 2nd time I came to here 2018. I am planning to come again next month.
Room: The rooms are quite basic but fine. The flooring is hardwood and not carpeted. While the flooring has a few scratches here and there that made the room look dated, the room overall was clean. The wifi was extremely poor and kept dropping off. There are a few basics such as coffee mugs, spoons etc. that were also missing. Bathrooms: Clean and spacious, no complaints here. Note that there is a tub installed and there is no walk-in shower cubicle. The partial glass screen on the tub means that there will be some water spilling over onto the bathroom floor. Staff: This is the low point of the hotel. The staff are clearly demotivated and unhappy working there and they take out their frustrations on the guests. When we checked in, there was one overworked and harassed staff member struggling to handle multiple customers at once. On another occasion, I witnessed two staff members at the check-in counter going absolutely berserk yelling at each other and completely ignoring the customers in front of them. To make matters worse, there is no separate housekeeping or guest services phone number in the room which means that if you needs any sort of assistance, you must contact the rude staff at the reception. For covid safety, the hotel has a large sign in front of the elevator that only 1 person can enter the elevator at a time. However, the staff themselves kept flouting this rule as I constantly observed them following me into the elevator. The one bright spark was the concierge Gilberto who was exceedingly polite and helpful. Location: Really good. I have read a few reviews that mention the hotel is in a quiet suburb. It most certainly is not. The surrounding area is bustling and full of restaurants and cafes. There are also two Carrefour Express grocery stores around the corner and a pharmacy right opposite. The hotel is just a 10 minute walk from the Duomo so is very central. Whether you are walking, taking the metro, or using an Uber, it is extremely convenient to get to almost anywhere in Milan from here. Food: Stuck to the breakfast here. Breakfast was a la carte and the options are not bad. While the fruits were not very fresh, the bakery items were good. The staff in the cafeteria were very polite and their demeanor was diametrically opposite to the staff at the check-in desk. Overall: This is a very basic hotel in a convenient location that is a good base from which to explore Milan and the surrounding areas. Shame about the staff.…
Incredible hotel and great staff. We were located at the 10th floor with a stunning view to the duomo. The executive suite was a kind of dream with a spa bathtub. A special note to Fabio and Massimo for their smile, welcoming and advice at the restaurant. The restaurant was absolutely delicious. We will come back for sure. And if you are planning to visit Milano, don’t hesitate to book Uptown Palace!
It would be a 3 /5, but given the circumstances I want to recognise an encouraging 4/5. The hotel is very central, 10 min walking or less from the Duomo. Unfortunately has a working site in front of it and it's located on a busy road, so expect it to be a bit noisy in the night. It's clean, light elegant, just a bit more than basic. Surely good for business traveller, not for those looking for a glamorous accommodation in Milan. Food is ok. Price was affected by the covid situation, but I believe is fair. Staff very polite, although the room service is often late or not precise.
Check in went quickly. The safe in our room didn't work and we got a new room. Despite it's rather fancy look, the breakfast was disappointing. When going out one night, we discovered that clothes make the (wo)man. The staff was much friendlier and more accommodating than before, which was very disappointing.
My husband and I planned a ski trip with an overnight in Milan at the end of our trip. COVID struck and the Canadian government advised against any travel to Italy. As a first responder in the ER in Ontario I tried to cancel our reservation and the hotel manager refused us and would not consider a refund nor credit for the night we had booked. TERRIBLE customer service. Totally dismmisive. Would never recommend this hotel as a result.
