One night business trip. Hotels in Milan are generally expensive. This shabby 4 star charged €250 and Breakfast was not included. Paid €13 for a very "poor" breakfast. The room (315) had a HOLE in the parquet and in was covered with a carpet (a trap!!) The room was very noisy with a bar below and noisy people outside until... More

It has been more than 8 years since the last time I visited this hotel and since that time I never changed to any other place in Milan! Without mentioning the great location and the cozy atmosphere which makes you feel like home, the element that give more value to this place is the staff and people engaged to providing... More

The location is super, but our room was tiny, hot, and VERY noisy. It overlooked the street, and the noise kept us awake until 2 or 3 a.m.each night. WiFi was very spotty and slow. Be aware that the room rate does not include breakfast, and the buffet offered costs 13 euros. We got coffee and pastries at nearby cafes... More

A group of us attending a conference stayed at the hotel. We loved the special attention and kindness of the staff. They could not have been more accommodating, arranging an early breakfast for us, friendly always, attending to our special requests. The lobby was large and a great place for us to all meet. The rooms were lovely -- not... More

Stayed here with a small group of friends for a long weekend. The hotel is old, full of character and charming. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. They looked up train times, printed out schedules etc and made helpful suggestions. The rooms were small but very clean. The seating area to the front was a very welcome shady spot... More

We travelled to Milan earlier this year and chose to stay at the Hotel Carrobio via the Wotif Mystery Deal. This hotel is the equivalent of the Seafood Surprise at your local Chinese buffet. Mysterious, and always disappointing. We were expecting to be staying at a nice 4 star boutique hotel, but we found it to be run down and... More

The hotel is nice and is well located (not so close to the Dome as they published tough). It gives the feeling that it was a high class hotel when it opened. The staff was helpfull and gave great directions of what to see in Milan. The only complain that I have is that I ordered a room with a... More

The rooms are out dated and in rough shape. It's extremely noisy as there is a large hostel right outside the front and you have people yell and making noise until the wee hour. Of they try to put you in the front across from this firmly decline. However the noise travels all through the lanes so even the inside... More

I am giving 3 stars because of location and because of Fabrizio that was super nice, but everything else was bad. As many people mention the staff with exception of Fabrizio wasn't friendly :-( we both a bottle of wine on our previous stop in Montepulciano and we decided to drink so we ask for some wine glasses and they... Myself and a colleague have been staying at the Hotel Carrobbio during a work trip in Milan. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful and the position is very central, in the old City Center. When you walk into the hotel, you get automatically transported into another era, the one of love movies in black and white.. They have a... More

Staying in Navigli

Neighborhood Profile
Navigli
The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande. The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns supreme here. You can start the walk from the Colonne di San Lorenzo, an antique colonnade in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. During the daytime, this place acts as a meeting point for artists and students reading books or chatting with friends; the nights turn it into a stepping-stone for club hoppers. Science lovers will also relish the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology National Museum Leonardo Da Vinci, showcasing inventions of the Italian genius.
