The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

This is an upscale hotel in the heart of the Milan shopping area. Step out back door and you are in high end shopping. A short 10 min walk gets you to the Galleria and also the Duomo. Very nice hotel with modern furnishings. Walls are a bit thin surprisingly and we could hear the dog barking next door and people in hallway. But, these lasted a short time and the room was quiet for all of the evening rest hours we were there over 2 nights. Concierges are accommodating and helpful. Gym is OK with 2 treadmills, 1 bike, and a do-all wall mounted weight-by-cable resistance, along with some hand weights. Spa is very nice although we did not use it.

The most friendly and attentive serviced we received in a long time; a pearl of a hotel, great location, great facility but the most streaking feature is the service, everyone made our stay special. We are definitely going back.

What I was hoping for was a 5 star luxury experience. Unfortunately this was not the case--even though I upgraded to a Junior Suite when booking. I was giving room on the 4th floor. When I walked in I saw a large king room with a big bathroom. I immediately asked whether this was a jr. suite and was told that it was and that the jr. suites are all different. I was disappointed. Later that day I looked on line and noted that the website stated that junior suites have separate seating areas among other things. I went downstairs again, this time armed with the information from the website. Once again I was told that what I had was a jr. suite because I had a big bathroom. Really? At this point I gave up. I had already unpacked and I was exhausted from my long journey. Adding insult to injury, the room was dated and in dire need of upkeep. The drapes were stained and ripped and the wall paper in the entry way near the bathroom was stained as well. No separate seating area except for two tired chairs (in need of cleaning) on the opposite side of the room and no view. Not the experience I wanted for 20th anniversary. On the positive side the service and people were wonderful. If you want 5 star luxury, this isn't where you should stay.

Wonderful stay in Milano. We found the entire staff helpful and personable and their service made us feel welcomed. The lobby and lounge have been updated with modern style, yet still keeping some of the hotel’s old world charm. The location is fantastic. We had the smaller room, which although small was adequate. Very comfortable bed, but the room was getting somewhat tired, needing a new coat of paint... but very nice despite. I would definitely stay there again!

I stayed at the Baglioni for a surprise trip to my wife. The concierge provided a lot of info prior to the trip, some tips and recommendations perfectly matched my requests showing great knowledge of the city and some original experiences I could not find anywhere else (even a day trip to experience a truffle hunt and wine tasting). Upon check-in they offered a room upgrade with a small increase over the rate originally booked and we were able to enjoy a fantastic private terrace. The restaurant offers a lot of local products and original cocktails. Location is perfect offering direct access to the shopping district. Overall the service really made the difference. My next trip to Milan will definitely be at the Baglioni Carlton.
