We stayed in this hotel for four nights during a visit to Milan and the northern Italian lakes. I had visited Milan a few times before but this was the first time we stayed here. Overall it was a very good experience. The hotel is conveniently located for a tourist visit to Milan. Not in the busiest part of the center of the city, but sufficiently close and with a metro station very close by that allows you to get to most sights and museums swiftly. There is also a limousine service provided by the hotel to the city center but we didn’t use that. We booked a superior room: spacious with a nice bathroom with separate bathtub and shower (something I like). The furnishing of the room was very stylish and in tune with the rest of the hotel. The room was on a side of the hotel which was fairly quiet. A good bed (a bit soft for my taste, but one adapts). Fresh fruit in the room and every day fresh water for the both of us. We didn’t use the mini-bar but it looked well-stocked. Good-sized safe. Overall good service as regards make-up of the room, turn-down service, etc. My better half enjoyed the pool. We didn’t use the spa services. Breakfast was good without being exceptional, but if you are into a big breakfast lots of additional possibilities are available. We did eat dinner at the restaurant one evening (we usually prefer to explore and eat outside). That was very good with excellent food, a very good selection of wine (obviously heavily tilted to the Italian side), a some nice extra options (I enjoyed a very good port after dinner). Overall service was excellent, friendly and very professional in all departments. The hotel and its facilities and furnishings are very nice, with a lot of nice design touches. All very traditional, luxurious yet tasteful. A very nice touch was that when we got back to our room in the afternoon of the birthday of my better half we found a chilled bottle of sparkling wine and a nice birthday cake. A very nice personal touch which we greatly appreciated. This is obviously not an economy hotel, but I would recommend it highly. It lives up to its luxury rating and really impressed me with its professionalism and service. Worth its price. Would certainly book there again if I went back to Milan.

We stayed at the Principe di Savoia for 2 nights at the end of a trip around Northern Italy. It is a beautiful, old-world hotel with elegant furnishings. On the positive side - 1) the concierge was helpful in securing dinner reservations for us ahead of time; 2) we were upgraded to a suite; and 3) I loved the Acqua di Parma toiletries in the room. Where the hotel fell short for me is as follows: On our first night we did not receive turndown service. On our second night, we did receive it, but for some reason that the hotel was unable to explain to me, a housekeeper entered our room at 10:20 PM while I was sleeping, and turned all the lights while stating, “Housekeeping!” Absolutely bizarre and unacceptable. We also felt the breakfast buffet was not up to the level of a 5-star hotel. Also of note, but not a problem - the hotel is not in the center of anything, but everywhere we went was within a 20 minute walk.

Our room was elegant and spacious with a large, firm yet comfortable bed. Our bathroom was also large with a shower in a deep tub. I was unhappy with the large step or climb to get in and out of the shower. The front desk told us all the rooms were like this, but our friend's room had a normal shower. There was no kettle nor coffee maker in the room. The room wifi was a bit unstable; they provided a cord that helped a little. While the interior is lovely, my first impression was disappointment. We arrived in the afternoon after a long train ride and were hungry. There was no food available from 2:30 to dinner and the concierge wasn't particularly helpful. I went across the square to the Westin, but it was the same set-up. Making a left out the door, I found a pizza place that was still serving food (thank goodness!). After that, things improved! Breakfast is a buffet and/or off the menu. The standouts are the chef's daily specials on the menu and the apple cake on the buffet. There were an excellent number of choices as you'd expect at a hotel like this. I highly recommend the bar for their aperitivo! Their cocktails were great and the bar snacks even better. Our waiter just kept coming by with little plates of food. One dish was better than the next. If back in Milan, I'd come here for aperitivo!

Arrived at 22.30 having booked through Amex centurion concierge on their FHR package. On arrival, I was told my room had been upgraded to a Deluxe room. The room was absolutely awful. There was a loud tram/rail that passed it 5-6 times an hour that made it sound like there was a storm in room and it caused the fixtures and fittings to shake. The room decor was in poor conditioned with a decades old bathtub shower that was weak, a mattress that was rock solid and a sticky hairdryer. I cannot emphasise how poor it is for a hotel of this standard to be offering such rooms at the rates they do. I complained and was moved for my final night (though the bell desk didn’t come and assist as promised) but that doesn’t excuse for the first night where I didn’t sleep and the hotel shrugged and offered no compensation. Won’t be staying here again. Strongly suggest you seek out other alternatives in Milan which are available at a similar price level but have been renovated and offered clean, comfortable and quiet accommodation.

At every turn the Principe impressed us. They stored some of our luggage ahead of our arrival. They welcomed us with warm hospitality on check in and Laura showed us directly to our room. Throughout our stay, the concierge team pointed out some brilliant restaurants. The bar staff were generous and fun to be around. The turn down service was a nightly surprise and delight. Faultless in our opinion.

We stayed here in November 2019 on our way back to the States after a family trip to Piedmont and the Lombardy region (just getting caught up on reviews since COVID). This hotel is absolutely dazzling with a well-heeled fashion industry clientele, but the staff made our family and young children feel incredibly welcome and right at home despite having the only children there that we saw during our stay. We got two connecting rooms and each had a small terrace. The bathrooms were a little dated but perfectly functional. We really enjoyed the dining and service in the lounge (which offered a kids menu); we didn't get a chance to try the formal restaurant due to our short visit but it looked busy. Our girls really enjoyed swimming in the indoor pool and hot tub on the rooftop. This place also has a pretty great gym for city hotel standards. Great place overall, wish we had more time to enjoy the property and city.

Nothing in this hotel seems to work and there is not much to enjoy either. Breakfast? You may have ro wait in line for half an hour, and the servers may be just too busy. Dinner or drinks? Just one option — the same space as the breakfast. Your room? Nice furniture but little space, little light, and poor internet connection. Concierge? They just tell you that everything will be fine.

One of the best and most beautiful hotels in all of Milano. I can’t say enough about the hospitality and staff - whether it is at check in, the restaurant, the gym, or with room service - all at five star levels for sure. COVID prevented us from coming here for some time and we’ve stayed at il Principe di Savoia before - we got a junior suite with a marvelous rain shower and bathtub, with a separate living room. The decor is extraordinary and opulent. Breakfast can’t be missed - I dream of their coffee and orange juice often. Although the gym is big for Italy, I wish it was a tad larger. The view can’t be beat though on the tenth floor. Don’t stay elsewhere - non te ne pentirai!
