Our experience at your hotel was awesome. Our suite was beautiful. The hotel was clean and gorgeous. They went beyond expectations helping us celebrate our anniversary! Location was perfect! The staff was so professional but absolutely warm and friendly!!! Would definitely recommend and would not stay anywhere else in beautiful Milan!
As someone already wrote the hotel is in a good location but the noise from the trams and subway is always there. Most underwhelming was the breakfast. For a five star hotel the presentation and the service is not what I expected. At the check out two door men were busy with elderly American couple and their 5 suitcases working hard for their tips so they didn't even bother to open the door for is as we were taking our suitcases out the door. It's a solid 4 start hotel, not more than that.
For those of us with an interest in opera, this place is fascinating just for its history (with residents like Verdi, Caruso and Callas). It's a 5-star hotel in the grand style, with massive ceilings, ornate decoration and traditional service. It is nevertheless extremely comfortable and lacks for nothing, and the service was always friendly. The location is perfect, whether you want to go to the Duomo, the Galleria or fashion shopping, it's all a short walk away. Do be aware that there is a fairly noisy tram passing by outside and a subway beneath, so you will occasionally feel/hear the rumbling, although this wasn't a problem for us.
I have stayed at Grand Hotel several times and each time I ask myself why I am coming back. It is a hotel in a great location. But service, rooms, breakfast etc are not worth the money you have to spend each night you stay there. The breakfast room is quite small (the veranda) and I have been asked to share the sofa Imsit in for breakfast with other guests. This is not anything that I have accepted. I want my own space when I have breakfast, I was given, this time, a so called quiet room. But the whole night I could hear and feel the subway passing under the building. When I checked out, like all other times, I have been charged for breakfast even if it is included. When I mention this to the receptionist they disappear for some to]ime to “investigate the matter”. It feels like the customer can not be trusted. There are many good hotels in Milan and next time I will try another LHW or SLH property.…
Grand Hotel et de Milan provided a fantastic stay. There's so much history with the former palace, and we loved that the staff was both knowledgeable and eager to talk about it and share details. We did, however, appreciate that the rooms / building has been renovated with modern amenities, while keeping a lot of the original and historical touches. The interior is a sight for sore eyes, with beautiful art pieces and furniture. Lastly, we appreciated the professional, courteous, prompt service - whenever we needed help with arranging a reservation or getting a taxi, their team was great. Would be delighted to come back. Last thing re: location - you couldn't be in a better place if you want to be close to the Duomo, Galleria, and shopping on Montenapoleone. We dropped our bags off and promptly went to our appts on Montenapoleone, which was an easy breeze.…
Historic hotel at the edge of the fashion square and a short walk to Milan’s magnificent cathedral and museums. The rooms are comfortable in size and beautifully appointed. Friendly staff. Well maintained. Good restaurants for breakfast, lunch, and drinks. We would stay again and highly recommend it.
A grand old hotel centrally located near high-end shopping, attractions, and public transport. Staff were delightful and couldn't have been more friendly, providing excellent service and hospitality. We had a small room but the hotel removed some furniture as requested to create less clutter. The public spaces are gorgeous and welcoming, and a lovely tranquil spot to rest after a busy day. Strongly recommended.
We have been guests for the last 30 years. It is always with great pleasure we return. Already the welcome by the doorman/bellboy is heartfelt and the car is taken care of immediately. Wonderful traditional rooms. The bar is an oasis of good feelings. This year, we had dinner on the summer terrace because there was a taxi strike in town. Very pleasant moment. Great service all over! Actually, the only small thing I would have liked was an information about the strike while checking in.
This is a classic Grand Hotel, with terrific service, rooms, food. Would definitely stay here for future visits to Milan. The concierge was exceptional, both for dining, and finding us a private guide on short notice. The guide was one of the best we have ever spent time with, and would also seek her on future visits.
Husband and I were there for 3 nights at the end of our northern Milan trip. We were a bit put off an our arrival as no one was outside to open doors, greet us, etc, but that changed once we began the check in procedure. Other than that beginning all staff were very outgoing and helpful. Hotel is lovely and deserves its place in the Leading Hotels category. Extremely comfortable bed in our deluxe king room. Spacious enough for 5 suitcases - 2 being quite large. Housekeeping gets a few demerits on not cleaning the tub as well as possible and allowing the makeup mirror to remain unhinged and fairly useless on the wall. Good location for shopping and sightseeing. Breakfast buffet expensive and really not worth the money. Bar beautiful and excellent. Didn’t have any other meals there, but ate in the Brea area all three nights and loved it. Hotel has an on-site doctor for COVID testing at $75 per person. We were nervous about this with returning to the U S and although more than we would have liked to spend, it was easy and saved us unneeded hassles. Would stay again!…
