This was a perfect introduction to Italy. The location was in an artsy area of Milan, close enough to walk to the center, near a fun night life and close to public transportation. There were flowers and fruit to greet us , free parking and a GREAT host and owner. We left feeling as if we had made new friends...

We booked this hotel based on its high ranking on trip advisor. It's probably my bad to think that low price does not necessarily mean it can't be good. We stayed at a 5 star hotel in Milan before we headed to Florence and thought "why not?" when seeing the high ranking on trip advisor when booking hotel for our...

It is located in the bar/restuarant area. There are close to 100 restaurants/bars in the canal area and has a great night life. Is about a 20 min walk to the duoma...

Looks pretty shabby from the outside, but rooms are nice and clean (no views though). Friendly staff only to happy to help guide you to the sites and assist in any way they can. Great location for local night life and the big sites are all within 20 minute walk.

I have been in few other hotels in Navigli, but my stay in Residence Aramis was the best one!Exellent localisation, very clean, very very nice owners Luigi and Willy! They are ready to help always. Only few steps to Porta Genova metro station. Lot of cafeteria and restaurants around. I am sure, that I will be back to this hotel.

Staying in Navigli

Neighborhood Profile
Navigli
The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande. The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns supreme here. You can start the walk from the Colonne di San Lorenzo, an antique colonnade in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. During the daytime, this place acts as a meeting point for artists and students reading books or chatting with friends; the nights turn it into a stepping-stone for club hoppers. Science lovers will also relish the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology National Museum Leonardo Da Vinci, showcasing inventions of the Italian genius.
