Nicely located in Stresa's "main" square (it's a very small town), Hotel Elena was exactly what we needed to wrap up our two weeks in Northern Italy. Easy access to the nearby public (free) parking area, and to the lakeshore for ferries or walking. We got a room on an upper floor away from the square and had no issues...

Hotel Elena is on the corner of Piazza Cadorna in the heart of old Stresa just a couple of minutes' walk from the Lake Maggiore boat station. Our 4th floor room had a balcony overlooking the square; a great view. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Downstairs there was a great-looking bar and indeed the Bar Elena occupied...

What a little gem this Hotel is! Spotlessly clean, lovely room, wonderful staff and a smashing breakfast! The location in the centre of the square makes it easy for all shopping, bars and restaurants with a short walk to the boat and ferry terminal to take you across the lake to the beautiful islands. If you want big and five...

We came here twice with our young son for drinks and to people watch. Great selection of teas and amazing hot chocolate. The same waitress served us twice and she was very friendly. Good place to sit outside and relax.

Great location but tranquil square becomes piccolo party zone at night- thin hotel walls and shutters can't help enough. Avoid this cute square for attempted sleep. Definitely not for family. Hotel itself friendly and comfortable. Not a lake view, but can see some mountain. Appreciate in- room safe. Nice little balconies.

We arrived well after check in time due to train delays, they waited for us to check in. Breakfast was wonderful and they helped arrange transport for local activities. Perfect location on the piazza, lovely staff and easy to walk o the beach, shops and restaurants.

This is an excellent family run hotel in a prime location. The room was a bit faded, but kept very clean and had a safe and hairdryer. There was always plenty of hot water and shower pressure was good. Breakfast was very good with selections of cereals, fruit, juices, yoghurt, pastries, cold meats and cheeses. Tea and coffee with plenty of "top...

The Elena is my kind of place. The facilities might earn a one star in some ratings systems but I found my every need met. Hats off to previous reviewers as I can only verify how spot on their numerical rating. Elena is an unpretentious hotel that is scrupulously clean and peacefully quiet - two of my highest standards so...

We spent a few nights in this hotel and it was in a perfect position for our stay. It faced a beautiful little square where many restaurants were and it was a couple of minutes walk down to to Ferries. The hotel itself was old but the rooms were spacious and very clean. The hotel also has their own restaurant...

This small bar (Albergo Bar Elena) is an annexe to the Hotel Elena which is located in the main square of Stresa. We sat in the sunshine drinking coffee and enjoying the view of the square. The service was very friendly and coffees were reasonably priced at €3.50 each. The toilets were of a good standard. Yes we would recommend...
