We also travelled with Great Rail Journeys on a dismal luggage hike half way across Europe and were very disappointed by the hotel. It couldn't be in a better situation for the convenience of the Pier and the town and there are some fabulous views and lovely gardens. Our 'balcony' room with lake view could barely take two small plastic... More

We stayed here for one week with Great Rail Journeys, the hotel is built in the classic style with grand furnishings and lovely gardens. Our package was a mix of half board and B+B. Our room was a lake view room and was probably the best view we have ever had in all our holidays. The buffet breakfasts were good,... More

We were booked to go to the Regina Palace and read some adverse reviews in Tripadvisor, so were apprehensive. We went with a large group (Great Rail Journeys - 40 in the group) and have just returned home. We find it hard to understand the adverse comments. This is a Grand hotel in the "belle epoque" style, very ornate and... More

As has been said by other reviewers, the hotel is visually very impressive from the outside with lovely grounds and in a great position both by Lake Maggiore and being so close to the centre of Stresa. Most of the public rooms are also impressive, grand and bright though the bar is the exception being modern and feels quite dingy.... More

Decided we wanted to visit Lake Maggiore and in the Brochure this hotel looks impressive. However, as we all know looks can deceive. Remove the glitzy facade and underneath you find a hotel totally lacking in Customer Service. We booked half board. First mistake. The food at Dinner nearly always arrived just about warm. Breakfast is a disgrace for a... More

We arrived at the Regina Palace recently on our honeymoon. Having scoured the reviews at the many hotels available in Stresa, we settled on the Regina Palace. First Impressions: The hotel looks absolutlely fantastic, wonderful gardens and an impressive frontage. The reception area is very impressive, with truly regal decor, and classic furnishing. Meals: We stayed half board, and personally... More

The Regina Palace Hotel was our last stop on a long trip and we splurged on a more expensive hotel to enjoy the ability to relax in luxury before the long trip home. If the price had been 1/2 of what we paid, it would have been worth it. We had a very large, well appointed room with terrace on... More

I marked the leisure category, as I could not select business and leisure. My husband traveled to Stresa and the Regina Palace Hotel on business and I went along. We reserved a double room, and where we are from that means double occupancy. Upon checking in we were informed it meant single occupancy. The front desk staff was not only... More

This hotel is old world charming and in a great location just a few minutes walk from the ferry pier. Our room was small yet very comfortable and the bed was absolutely fabulous after a long day of walking! The hotel has an outdoor pool area that is relaxing and tranquil, a perfect place to read a book. The breakfast... More

Very good location. The shortest walk(less than 5 minutes) to the town piazza for dinners, coffee, shops. Only ate at the breakfast buffet at hotel that had good attentive service. The Hotel fits the bill for the "palace" style hotels in the area. the front desk fluent in many languages and helped with every request. The indoor pool should be featured... More
