I loved the palace! I read the reviews here extensively before going and thank goodness I wasn't put off. 1. The background music is delightful - so relaxing and you get so relaxed you stop noticing it 2. The lifts aren't that bad (but if you think they are use the modern one around the corner) 3. Breakfast is actually... More

I have been to Regina several times this summer. Sometimes I got reasonably good rooms. The hotel is nicely located in the centre, nice swimming pool. It's an old hotel frantically fighting to preserve the palatial interior without investing too much. The turnover of tourist is huge. They come with buses, stay for a night or two and go... The... Like living in an old palace, amazing ground floor and gardens, room less impressive, but sufficient. Expect little niggles like jacuzzi and telephone not working, and lack of instructions, but didn't spoil things. Pool U heated, so fresh, and indoor pool in 'cave' unique, with many timed waterfalls and showers!

This hotel is a little bombastic. Pretentious even. But also a bit dated. The rooms are clean, small and visiting this hotel is a bit like time travelling. You can imagine how things were - say 80 years ago. Some members of staff go the absolute extra mile to make your visit memorable. Francesco arranged for a birthday cake and... More

Had 10 nights here in August and cannot fault the friendly staff, lovely food and beautiful grounds. Although busy it never seemed crowded and the good service remained a constant factor. Very good food given the number of guests and friendly not pushy service. Reception ladies all really helpful, especially Alessandra who helped extend our stay. Would be back in... More

Stayed at this hotel for7 nights at the start of August as part of a group from Riveira travel, first thing you notice is the grandeur, opulence and wall to wall chandeliers. Everything oozes class from top to bottom. The rooms are clean ,tidy and have everything in them that you require. The bar, dining rooms, and sports centre leave nothing to... More

We had a great stay at this hotel. Stayed for eight nights and love Stresa. Only gave this hotel a four grading as there were some aspects which could be improved. Positives: Situation is excellent with magnificent views over the lake and just a short walk to all amenities in Stresa. The hotel itself is a magnificent looking building and... More

wonderful hotel with vast underground parking. Friendly staff. You walk into another century. The hotel is well maintained, clean and decorated like a palace. We had a room with lakeview: spacious with a salon. The bathroom was rather small in comparison, but offered a bubblebath, shower, .... The views are super on the lake, the Borromean Isles, the mountains. Quiet... More

OK so when I first arrived having spent the best part of 200 Euros, I was shocked to find I had been put in what is essentially the loft. I would have at least liked some windows with a view, accepting the receptionists view that I did at least have windows, it would have been nice to look at anything... More

We arrived at the beautiful location looking toward to a weeks stay with family members as a special treat. Upon entering our room for "3" it was soon clear that there was only a double bed in a very cramped room. The only solution staff were able to offer was to cramp in another bed which meant we had no... More
