After reading reviews we left Verona and decided to come here and enjoy the last night of our holiday. On arrival we asked for the best price and we were offered an upgraded room to a lake view. We were excited, we explained we were newly engaged and thrilled to be away celebrating. However when we entered the room we were disappointed. We were given the key and asked to wait 5 minutes. After waiting longer then this we went upstairs and the room was still being cleaned. The room wasn’t anything special. It was on the first floor and over looked the lobby roof. The bathroom and room is basic and dated. We sat on the balcony whilst they finished cleaning the room and as soon as I sat down the chair Broke and cut my leg (my partner and I are slim!) the cleaning lady showed concern and passed me a cloth and alcohol solution to clean my leg. She called reception and the reception man came a little while after and swapped the chair but didn’t speak a word. No apology. He Ignored us and didn’t engage in conversation. We brushed it off and wanted to get outside and enjoy the sunshine. The pool area is nice. The food served is very average and overpriced but almost expected. The pool is cold even in 28degrees sunshine. The shower in the room is poor and the bathroom is dated. There was no information regarding the price of the mini bar (still non after asking reception, they said they would bring it to the room but they haven’t), no water or tea and coffee in the room either. There was a Private party going on till after 11:30pm which stopped us sleeping. There were human and dog hairs in the bed!!! There are so many dogs, don’t stay here if you don’t like dogs. Guests are allowed to bring them in the room. I’m Writing this because I’m up and can’t sleep due to the loud music! We haven’t had breakfast yet but I’m ready to be disappointed again. Reception don’t seem to care. I’m a positive person and the only positive is the bar man in the lobby bar this evening made me the perfect expresso martini! Honestly I would only stay here is you are prepared to be disappointed and sleep in a bed covered in hair and cut your leg on broken furniture! These things happen in life but it’s disappointing when the hotel doesn’t apologise.

We spent a week here in July 2020, just as lockdown restrictions were easing. Our stay at Hotel Olivi was perfect. The staff were outstanding, so kind, so helpful, so attentive. They couldn't do enough for us. The pool area is clean and freshly refurbished, in a beautiful setting, olive and lemon trees everywhere. There was only one occasion when we couldn't get a sunbed - a weekend afternoon about 3pm. Weekends were far busier, maybe Italians escaping for the weekend? Food was fabulous. We were on half board, and ate a four course dinner every evening. (This could have been swapped for lunch if we chose to do so.) Breakfast was a bit more problematic as the waiters had to serve us from the buffet (due to coronavirus restrictions). This resulted in a bit of a queue some mornings. This is a dog friendly hotel - dogs can stay in their owners' rooms. Look out for the sparrows at breakfast!

Located on the island of Sirmione, immersed in the greenery of a well-kept park with a heated swimming pool. The atmosphere is magnificent, no noise is heard except that of nature and you have a beautiful view of the lake. Pleasant Spa service with thermal water, steam bath and sauna, in short, every comfort. Magnificent welcome, all very kind, I can't wait to be there again!

The main hotel area is clean with a nice design. It is easy walking distance to the main town. We visited the spa one evening which was clean had plenty of options. Even if you are staying at the hotel you must pay €20 each to enter the spa. Breakfast was nice with lots of option but doesn’t open until 7.30, so may be worth speaking to reception if you have an early start. We had dinner one evening which was pleasant and the food was nice, but be warned, this is gourmet food. If you are looking for something filling and reasonably priced, go into town. In February it is out of season so you’re best to eat early. On arrival we were offered a free upgrade for our second night which was a pleasant surprise. The check in staff were very helpful and polite. Had we have not received the upgrade we would have complained as our first room was very small, outdated and not as advertised (room 130). Our second room (245), however, was perfect. Unfortunately, our stay was ruined by the poor customer service which we received at check out. It hadn’t been made clear to us that checkout was 7.30 - 10.30pm, you are expected to either find it in the hotel literature or the small sign on front desk. Naturally when you check in you’re tired from travelling, so this should be made more clear. We happened to be found at front desk by a gentleman who shook his head when we explained we hadn’t checked out the night before as it wasn’t made clear to us. We were told we should have read the sign. He implied there was no way for us to settle our bill and made it clear he didn’t believe we would pay over the telephone. He was, however, able to take our payment there and then anyway. There was some confusion as to which day we had eaten in the restaurant (it was 6.30 am and we had had a very long day in Venice the day before), which ultimately resulted in an argument because he thought we were lying. It should be remembered that your last impression is just as important as your first.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel this past weekend. After reading the reviews we were looking forward to our stay. After arriving at the hotel and through check-in they provide you with no information. While checking in they simply provide you with a spa voucher while providing no infmortion on spa hours or number of entrances as a hotel guest for two nights. The voucher turned out to be a one time entrance to spa for three hours. As we did not know this(and thinking we had two entrances) we used the voucher for an hour the night we got in. Had we known we would have gone the following day. They take 20 euros per entrance for a simple thermal pool and sauna-definitely not worth it to pay the extra fee. In addition they provided no information on breakfast service times nor mini bar information in the room - I still don’t know if there was an extra charge or it was included. Another disappointment is that the rooms are quite simple - not even a water bottle tea kettle in the room. The lake view I paid for - was quite disappointing on the first floor over looking the lobby roof. The front desk was not very service-full and very unpleasant every request was answered by NO or NO at the moment. On Saturday night there was live music in the lobby which for the first few hours was lovely but by 10pm we wanted to go to bed and were unable to because the music was so loud from our room. We asked the front desk when it would end and they said at 11. The music went on until almost midnight... There is parking at the hotel - but once you arrive with a car the area is a ZTL zone - an area not allowed for vehicles or a large fine/ticket you will get send in the mail . I tried calling the hotel a few times, yet no answer. So I left my husband in the car - as there was no free parking in the area and headed into the old town and walked up the hill to the hotel which was about 12 mins walking only to discover that all we needed to do was to let the guard at the entrance of the castle/old Sirmione that we have reservations at reservation at the Olivia hotel. Which then permits passage and avoid a hefty ticket. For spa hotel you would anticipate the shower in your room to be inviting - however the shower is both small and the water flow is almost non-existent. The restaurant staff at breakfast was very nice and willing to help and serve !
