We stayed here at the end of September 2019. We loved Laura and Lela the dog- very kind and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay here for three nights and were lucky to stay for the air show during our honeymoon. Yes the bed is a little hard but the bathroom is large and the view from the balcony is outstanding. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a more perfect spot.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! Laura, Christian and Lila (sweet little dog) were there to greet us from the patio. The home has been in the family for generations and is full of lovely old paintings, dishes, furniture, etc. The gardens are beautiful and the (communal) patio is a great place for a glass of wine while watching the sunset. Like many small places in Italy be prepared for stairs. The only down side was the mattress was a bit too firm for us. Otherwise I would highly recommend staying here!!

Laura was very responsive to my emails prior to our arrival. She and Christian were so warm and welcoming - we felt right at home. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and even drove us to the train when we were running late. The room was very charming and clean. We stayed in the room with a terrace which we loved sitting on and watching the ferry and sunset. Our stay at Villa Torretta was what made the trip to Lake Como special. Grazie Laura and Christian!

On the plus side, the room was clean and the hotel is in a convenient location. On the down side, it is very dark. The villa looks like nothing has been moved in decades. The curtains are drawn to keep the place cool, I suppose, but it is very dark. It is not a comfortable or friendly place to sit or relax. We occasionally saw other guests on their way out or in, but no one is sitting in the dining room or the living room or hanging out. The lady who runs the place was helpful, but somewhat stern in her demeanor. We are not noisy people and do not stay out, but I felt like I had to tip toe every time we went in or out or else risk a warning from the landlady. There is no coffee or tea on site, just a pot for heating water in the bathroom and some instant coffee and tea bags. It would have been so nice to sit on the porch in the morning with some pastries and coffee, but this is not possible. Our room had a small concrete balcony/porch in the back of our room on the roof, but it was very sunny, didn’t look out on the lake or anything interesting, kinda dirty and uninviting, so we only used it once. We were not comfortable here and there are many other options in the area, so next time, we will pick someplace else.

it is easy to discredit a person with a pen and paper ... it is necessary to argue at the moment for the solutions

A very elegant lakeside 19th Century Villa, nicely appointed with antique furnitureand decor. Spectacular views of the lake. Walking distance to restaurants and shops, and the boat dock is literally at your front door, which makes travel to other parts of the lake very convenient. The downside is that it can get a bit noisy during the day with all the boat traffic, but I'm guessing that most people aren't hanging around their rooms all day. Be prepared to deal with stairs, but that's the norm in Italian coastal towns. We had no problem with this, though some might. The mattresses could use updating, but otherwise a very comfortable room with a lovely terrace. We had a very pleasant and relaxing stay. Recommended!
