Hotel Bellagio is a great hotel nestled just off the bustling main street of the waterfront. Be prepared to walk up or down some cobble stone stairs, but the alleyway is quiet and charming. The hotel itself for us was a typical European style hotel, it is a bit dated but what to expect from an older Italian building (this is typical of these older cities, don't expect anything really brand new). Despite this small detail the hotel has everything else one would want from a hotel: friendly hotel staff, great location, and a breathtaking view. Hotel Staff: genuine, helpful, attentive, from wait staff, front desk, to cleaning staff. Breakfast: Continental with fresh eggs to boil (nice touch), yummy pastries, and hot tea/coffee, what more do you need? The seating area outside is perfect, quiet, picturesque, and you get a partial lake view. Location, location, location: Seriously, you are in the heart of Bellagio. Walk one minute up to the main old town street lined with the church, shops, cafes and restaurants. Or walk 30 seconds down to the waterfront street to connect to ferries, boats, lake side restaurants and gelaterie. If you are able, get a room with a view of the lake, it is worth the extra $$. Waking up to that view...priceless. Tips when traveling with a baby: we had our 6 month old with us. White noise machine! We used a combination of stroller and baby carrier. Strollers can be tough if yours does not do well in this terrain. We have a Mountain Buggy Terrain and the wheels are big for easy up and down the cobblestone stairs. We would also consider a travel buggy like the Yoyo or Nano, as you can just carry them with ease. Most places have a highchair for dining, including the hotel. We did not ask for a cot, as we co-slept (bed was big enough), but the hotel will provide if you ask. Bonus: there is a roof top terrace. Although it faces the opposite side of the hotel (not lake front), it is a great place to chill. Or terrace at (sister) Hotel Du Lac. They also offer parking for a small price per night. It is a 3 minute walk from the hotel, but we felt it very secure in a gated car park. For late night check ins, you are advised to go to the sister hotel, Hotel Du Lac, they will complete all the formalities for you, including parking.…
Wonderful hotel in a perfect location. Staff are friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again on our next trip to Lake Como. Its worth booking a room on the top floor as the views of Lake Como are stunning.
Perfect location up a few steps from the lake. We had a lovely view of the lake from our room. The outdoor terraces would have been great to relax in if it wasn’t raining. Good choices of restaurants at all price ranges nearby.
Stayed there for a few nights and was so happy with everything. The location is the best, room was nice bright and clean, also staff was friendly and breakfast enjoyable on a nice terrace. Price was very reasonable and I would def go back if in Bellagio again.
Unfortunately, I had to cancel my travel due to Covid restrictions. I cancelled the hotel well within the time period for free cancellation - but the hotel did not return my deposit money. Booked this hotel through one of the major travel companies. This is the only hotel I have ever booked that required a 1 night deposit paid separately, after booking, to the hotel. The booking company tried but failed to get the refund. I contacted the hotel directly but could not get the money back. Fortunately, the credit card company took care of it.
