Lovely little hotel. I'd have to say the best communication ever. Is message and get a reply immediately. Family run and very quaint. Make sure if booking through online you ask for air conditioning if you travel in the summer. I misunderstood. We managed by opening the window and blessed with a breeze. It's small and family run. They care... More

Stayed here last month while on a walking holiday. The room was fine, with a balcony. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The small bar at reception was very reasonably priced. There was a large, varied spread at breakfast. A clean, smart hotel where the staff really try. We would definetely recommend staying here.

Close to both the train station and the water front, surrounded by wonderful Italian restaurants this clean and cosy hotel provides free wifi and a good selection for breakfast. Some rooms have their own shower but share toilet otherwise you share both. For the price I'll be back.

Dear Michael, we sincerely thank you for your warm review. We'd also like to remember, as you said, that almost every room has its private bathroom with shower or bath and just a few got a shared toilet, the ones we define "Economy". Thanks you so much and hope to welcome you really soon, HC More

I put this question as the title, because, apart from the lack of elevator (though not serious, since the hotel has only three floors), I haven't found any flaw or limit, in my three-night stay (80 Euros a night for the double room with breakfast). Our room was quite large and well maintained (as well as the common areas and... More

Thank you so much for your nice review. To answer your question, the number of stars given to a hotel depend on the services it can provide to the customers; one of this, as you said, it's the elevator which is almost impossible to get cause of the late 50's building where Calypso was born. However, our family kept trying... More

A few steps from the trainstation and the beach, right in the middle of the new town and only a few minutes walking to the old town. Spotless bathroom and room with balcony and streetview for 90 euro, breakfast included. Continental breakfast was ok. Staff ok. This certainly is a hotel I would recommend!!!

So, the bed is ok, breakfeast is poor (some of the breads from day before), air condicioned doens t works in cold temperature, the view is horrible from the window. Is ok for stay maximum one night in that place. The cleaners are very friendly staff and help in all you need.

My husband, daughter and I were visiting the French Riviera and decided it would be fun to go to Italy for the night. We arrived with no plans and found this hotel in a great location to the beach, restaurants, shopping, etc. The price was quite high for what we got. €110 ($155 CAD) for an outdated musty smelling room.... Three Canadian couples stayed at The Calypso for three nights. We loved it!! Very convenient to everything in the town, especially the Friday Market, which is not to be missed. Just spent one night after a long train ride. The night lady was very nice and served a great cold breakfast. Price was a bit higher than we have paid for a shared bath but everything is spotlessly clean and beds so comfortable...great sheets! No problem with shared bath and very close by. Highly recommend the Calypso!
