Friendly people and good service. Hotel is old fashioned but does have its charme. We booked 2 rooms . One luxe and one classic and you will need to measure in cm to find out if luxe is really bigger. For me this is stealing money. Restaurant food ok. Breakfast rather poor. Toaster but no roast. Opens at 8:00 but eggs etc arrived at 8:30… Conclusion: you pay too much and get too little
The hotel is superbly located and has a well trained staff that speaks English besides French. The restaurant next door where breakfast is served offers dinner as well both of which are beyond excellent!
The hotel is modern, clean, and comfortable, with a very helpful, friendly English speaking staff. The dining room is spacious and comfortable, with great food (hey, it's France). Our room was on the small side but perfectly comfortable and efficient. The room was quiet, thanks to sound-proofing and the fact that there wasn't much activity out in the street. The location is in a small, sleepy town (you have to get used to the French propensity to close businesses in the middle of the day and to close restaurants pretty much at random for "vacation").
This hotel is a bit lacking in amenities and almost felt like more of a hostel in some ways. No water provided in room, very small rooms but well laid out for storage. Un need of some maintenance – the shower flooded the room and the shower head was in need of a good clean. The hotel restaurant was overwhelmed with the number of guests and unfortunately didn’t cope well.
We were in the Blois region for a day (afternoon and morning), and chose this establishment for its proximity to many castles. The staff was very nice, the rooms were clean, and the parking is safely tucked away behind the hotel. We also had dinner there and loved our meals! The hotel is about 20 minutes from the chateau de Blois, and 10 minutes away from Chambord. We didn't see Cheverny as we were short on time, but if we do come back to the region, we'll definitely try to stay here again.
A pleasant hotel in a sleepy village, perfect for exploring the Sologne and the Chateaux of the Loire. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff helpful. The restaurant was good but not exceptional, with a limited variety of dishes if you are staying for more than two nights. Good selection of reasonably priced local wines.
Hotel with clean and sizeable room located near Chateau de Cheverny. Has a decent in-house restaurant serving various local wine. Friendly check in service. Note: check in time is at 4pm, so your room might only be available then. Tips: go to Cheverny early, check in without physically go into your room and leave your luggages at the hotel. The closest chateau is Cheverny. Drinking water and thermo flasks are available at the seating area in front of the check in counter. You can bring the thermo flask with you to your room. Wifi: ask for the passwords from the front desk. Free wifi available but the connection is a bit erratic and unreliable especially towards evening when mosts guests are back from Chateau visits. Breakfast: Really nothing much. Service is slow with what seems to be only one waitress serving the whole restaurant. …
We had booked a 1 night special at this hotel, dinner, Bed and Breakfast. On arrival we were greeted by the reception staff who took us to our room and explained all relating to stay, our room was a suite and was very large and roomy for French bedrooms. Dinner was amazing we had a limited choice with our deal but was not a problem as we could have just changed added what we preferred. Restaurant was very busy but the service was still excellent. Overall great stay, excellent.
Three nights here and very good in every respect with the most helpful cheerful team and modern practical rooms in a beautiful old building. Little over the top on technology with a computer pad to control the telephone and TV. The quality and modern finish of of the whole hotel is quite amazing and real credit to the architects
Who would think that behind the unassuming frontage of the hotels bistro next to church one would find one of the nicest, most comfortable and friendly small hotels in France. The disabled room that we occupied for 15 nights had a wonderfully comfortable big bed and a big adapted bathroom/ wet room ideal for the disabled traveller. The rooms are delightfully decorated and spotlessly clean. Big, fluffy toweling robes and slippers are provided with extra towels and pillows on request. There is good internet access with a router almost outside our door. We had access problems the 1st few days but that was solved by the ever efficient receptionist Audrey who came up and rebooted the router. There is plenty of safe parking behind the hotel , a spacious lift and staff that unfailingly cheerful, polite and helpful. There is an on-site restaurant with an a a large carte menu and a table d'hote menu that changes daily priced at 28 euros. An example of that we ate one evening comprised of a tasty celeriac remouldade, delicious roasted chicken with a thyme jus followed by chocolate mousse. Who can complaint about any of that , not even my ultra fussy eater partner. Chateaux Cheverny is 900 metres down the road Cour-Cheverny is an ideal base to explore the eastern edge of the Loire valley and is a 4 hours drive from the port of Caen. If you follow the French motorway system it costs about 30 euros on the payarge sections and is well worth it, as other than by large towns traffic is virtually non-existent. Although it costs a little more we always pay by credit or debit card as nearly all of the pay booths are unattended now. Although the bistro etc had been in existence for many years the hotel was only built 5 years ago . The picture you see is actually at the rear of the bistro and is the main entrance of the hotel. Don't expect to see this view from main road. Follow the one way system around the town keeping an eye out for town hall . Turn left in front of the town hall and this will lead you into the hotel car park and it's nouvelle chateaux main entrance. I hope you enjoy you enjoy your stay as much as we did. Needless to say we have already booked for next year.…
