This B&B is clean and spacious. As La Spezia is not too big a city, we were not that far from the centre. The girl who welcomed us was very kind and helpful. However, it should be more specified that the free parking lot is not very close to the hotel. Also, the website should specify that if you check-in... More

Upon arrival at Casa di Gabriella, no host was present to open the door for us and we did not receive a notice before our arrival to let us know there would not be anyone here. One of the guests came to the door after a while and let us in. Afterwards, we had to figure out a way to... More

Had a lovely week in La Spezia visiting Cinque Terre and Milan from the base. The hosts are lovely, the room was really clean and bright, gorgeous balcony and views of the mountains. The square below is beautiful, bit noisy but it can't be heard inside the room. The only negatives was the small temperamental shower but you get the... More

I stayed here 2 nights. The room with the private bathroom is in an old building.During the night there were noise from the street as it's a piazza around and Italian people and homeless gather there and stay until late in the night. There is no reception so don't expect to ask somebody for info anytime you want.Italians have rooms for... More

La Casa di Gabriella was very easy to be found in La Spezia. Situated downtown on a beautiful square pretty close to almost everything you can visit in La Spezia - main streets, restaurants, bars, market, train station. It is really worth for the price. Nevertheless the whole apartment was so quite and clean. We really enjoyed staying in La... More

Stayed here with a friend for two night. Everything was fine, staff were friendly and helpful. Reception opening times for check in are not very convenient although if you call them they can arrange a check in at a later time. The worst thing I found was that the bathroom that was shared with other rooms didnt have a lock,... More

We enjoyed the private atmosphere of the "appartment hotel". One time warm water wouldn't work (next time it worked). Wasn't so easy to find a restaurant nearby. Breakfast (at the subcontracted restaurant) was simple - but that's the way it is in Italy.

This was the only booking we have ever walked away from. The owner was a no-show and the elevator was broken down. (The room was on the third floor and we are in our late 60's) It did not feel like a good part of town as we observed drunken men partying in the square in the early afternoon, one... More

Due to a train strike we were unable to arrive on the determined time and therefore were not able to stay BUT HAD TO PAY FOR THE NIGHT!! Be sure to arrive before 8.00p.m. The owners lack of understanding and common sense in a case where there is not much one can do. I work in hotels myself and KNOW... More

I think anyone considering this property needs to know a few things. It is not a hotel but a private apartment. It does not appear to be manned so there is no one there except during your check in time. There is also only a very small label on the buzzer/intercom system that lets you know you are there. My...
