If you dont care about tough mold smell in a room (like myself because i only spend night in it), choose this hotel. Quite cheap and in the center, near to many attractions in Genoa. Window was open all the time, so the smell was kept minimum. My biggest downside for this hotel were towels. It was embarrassing - I... More

We went to Genoa where we started our cruise with the MSC line. What I liked best regarding the Hotel was the location. We could walk with our suitcases from the Hotel to the Cruise Terminal. During our one day stay in Genoa we could easily reach the old part of the town, the interesting old palaces and buildings, the... More

I am staying in Alexander at least ten times. Yes, the hotel is not really a three stars, but anyway, it is clean, warm, and the position is good, only five minutes from the aquarium. The staff is excellent!

We were exhausted when we got here and could not be bothered looking around, so took it for one night with the possibility of two (just in case). It's no 4 star but they don't claim to be!! The room was not large but big enough, small bathroom and we literally had to turn 360 degrees to get our bodies... More

We arrive in the evening and made our way from Genoa Railway station through somewhat down at heel streets to the Hotel Alexander ( booked on-line). The reception area was a bit shabby and smelt of cigarette smoke and the male night shift receptionist was not especially welcoming. The piece de resistance, however, was the baseball bat stashed behind the... More

I was with my mum on arrival the front of house was gruff rude and unfriendly. our room was pretty awful window looking out into rubbish area which was... More

We booked this hotel because it was about the only one we could find that was available when we were in Genoa. Although it is very close to the train station, which was beneficial, and the rooms were fine, the front desk people were the opposite of helpful. They were all amazingly grouchy for small hotel staff. The check in... More

This hotel is all about location, it is so close to the principe station and the cruise ship terminal that you dont need to get taxis to either and it is a comfortable walk to downtown. Although the room was small especially the shower cubicle in the bathroom it was clean and tidy and with breakfast provided represented good value.

ne of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. A real fire trap. There is only one way out of the building through narrow halls. The breakfast area is in the basement and there is only one exit. The staff does not wanted to be bothered with any requests or statement to problems with the rooms. The rooms smell... More
