Like an eagle's nest atop the mountain, between Corniglia and Vernassa, just off the hiking trail, sits Laconda Valeria, the most delightful, beautifully appointed B&B, with a panarama that is nothing less than breathtaking across the ocean and the coastline of the Cinque Terre. Perhaps best for people with transport, yet even for those without, with the friendliest, most helpful... More

High above (and midway between the two towns if Corniglia and Vernazza) this charming 5 bedroom bed & breakfast is definitely isolated - and you'll need a car. We were a bit taken aback when we first arrived, because it was so far up the mountain from Cinque Terre. But it turned out to be not only adorable, but probably... More

We love this place. The view from the bedrooms is fantastic. We came here for my birthday last year. And we are returning this year too. It is true, you definitely need a car if you want to come here. But at least there is good parking and then you can directly follow the trails from the Locanda. They have... More

Having read the other reviews we were prepared to find the place with nobody there and called the respective number and in 10min somebody was on-site. The family runs two restaurants in Corniglia and I guess they send whoever has the time - for us the chef of one of the restaurants came. We were there in June and arrived... More

We booked since booking.com has wonderful reviews but guess what? The place is reachable from Corniglia Train Station another town and if you don't have a car it's impossible to arrive. But the Chef of the restaurant Trattoria Lanterna which is from the same family of the hotel was kind enough to put us in other place that was very... More

You NEED a car to stay at Locanda Valeria. Our room was nice and pleasantly furnished, BUT the inn is very isolated; about 3 Km from the village of Corniglia up a steep, narrow, unlit paved road without any sidewalks. The website warns of the lack of access but implies there are taxis or at least a reservable shuttle. HOWEVER,... More

A few key items if staying here- - The owner is never on site, when you arrive you must call him and he will come and get your key. - This place is located on a cliff in the mountains so getting there is a drive on switchback roads with only have one to one and half lanes. - Great... More

i asked for a night in Valeria for my birthday because it's my name in italian and because it looked so magnificent in the photos. since we researched, we knew it was out of the way and we LOVED that and prepared by bringing our own wine, cheese, bread & salami and enjoyed it at a picnic table on the... We were in Italy for two weeks and had a reservation to stay at this place after the first week. We drove up the winding, mountainous roads and were dead tired when we arrived but no one was there. The doors were locked. We tried to call but couldn't get through. We were stuck. We had to search to find... More

Six of us booked two nights at Locanda Valeria in September 2012. When we arrived at the fork in the road to go to Vernazza, it was blocked by a barricade. No houses, no business, nothing to get info from. So we drove to Monterosso and called the hotel. He said "go to the barricade and stay until the road... More
