"Il Vigneto" is a family-run Bed & Breakfast activity, in the middle of the ancient village of Volastra (from the latin Vicus Oleaster, which means the place of olive trees). Volastra is one of the most authentic realities in the heart of the National Park of the Cinque Terre, where terraces built with dry stone walling cleverly made without any cement, give place to the cultivation of vineyards and olive trees. Volastra besides offering an extraordinary natural landscape with hills sloping down to the sea, is the most important crossway of paths of the Cinque Terre. In fact, from Volastra you may hike many paths with various levels of difficulty surrounded by a spectacular nature. All the paths are duly signed with red and white strips. In a few minutes from Volastra you may reach Manarola thanks to a good shuttle bus service. The cost of the bus is included in the daily ticket to visit the National Park. Once you are in Manarola you may use trains and boats to visit the other four villages. "Il Vigneto" of very recent restructuring offers double, triple and quadruple rooms, each one with its own bathroom, TV sat, high speed internet connection, small fridge, heating and a few with sea view. Breakfast is served in the dining room while during the good season it is served on a wide panoramic terrace with an amazing sea view. From the terrace, that may be used by our guests, you may admire the sea surrounded by hills cultivated with olive trees and vineyard.

We arrived late in the afternoon and checked in ourselves, there are no restaurants open in the evening in Volastra (in November) as the owner had informed us previously. The room was spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable and nice hot water was available. It was easy to find the B+B (simple and easy instructions given to us upon reservation), the location was very quiet (we were theonly ones staying!) and in the morning we were treated to a delicious breakfast on the terrace with stunning views over the surrounding hillsides/vinyards and sea. Patricia was an excellent host, she gave us very useful information about the footpaths to follow and we had an excellent walk the following day from Volastra to Corniglia, stunning views and wonderful countryside! Grazie mille! Thankyou for a lovely stay, Sophie and Antonis from Crete, Greece

This place is small and makes you feel part of a family. It’s clean, comfortable and the location is the best. The view from terrace is perfect. Hiking paths to Manarola and Corniglia are worth the adventure! The owner Andrea is very gracious and the family makes olio. We brought some home and will be savoring it with memories of a beautiful place. Thanks too to Donatella for all her help and hard work to make us feel welcome and comfortable πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ» Until next time - M&M Michel

This little bed and breakfast is in the village of volastra of 1800’s. Streets and architecture surely tells the story. Well kept and clean rooms and surroundings. Spending three nights here made me appreciate how simple the life in this area is, relaxing, healthy, fresh, and friendly.

We stayed 4 nights in this B&B and we loved it very much: nice breakfast on a terrace overlooking the sea, small but comfortable room and with pretty big bathroom. There is a private parking available that saves quite a lot of money compared to hotels and B&B in the villages on the sea. The disadvantage is that the only way to the sea is by bus (not very frequent, so need to plan correctly) or by foot (20min down and 40min up). Also dining options are a bit limited (only 2 restaurants) in the small Volastra, but again with good planning you can eat in Manarola and take the bus up (or take away and eat on the lovely terrace). Overall very nice place but don't expect it to be a seaside resort (like many of the people that gave low ratings)

The B&B is located in Volastra, a small town above the 5 villages of the Cinque Terre. Right on the hiking path between Manarola & Corniglia, and very close to the bus stop. Very small town, quiet. Only a couple of restaurants. We loved L'Arcobaleno. Patrizia and Andrea were extremely helpful and very friendly. Our room was good size. Our "private" bathroom was across the hall and up 2 pretty steep steps. The bathroom was very nice, though. The views from the patio were amazing. Breakfast was basic, - bread, juice, yogurt & cereals. Our room had a small refrigerator which was nice. No A/C, but thankfully our room didn't get too hot.
