We stayed here for 2 nights and loved the place. It's located at the marina of Riomaggiore. The window opened up to the amazing sea view and we could listen to the sound of crashing waves!! Yes, there are stairs to go up to the room but, if you are visiting Cinque Terre that’s something you would have to do anyway. The place is really clean, the host is very helpful.
All your Italian favourites done well, pizzas are tasty, pasta plentiful and delicious. Clean, air conditioned, comfortable. Reasonably priced for a touristy location. Not far from the sunset spot of the cinque terre.
Beautiful, traditional, clean and special apartment with stunning view of riomaggiore bay. We had the smaller apartment with the smaller balcony and it was gorgeous. Everything we needed for self catering. Lovely, friendly lady helped us to settle in and provided key (which was interesting as our Italian is basic and she had no English, but we all managed!). Very clean and good aircon. Such a beautiful place where we really felt like we were living the italian dream. Definitely will return. All linen and towels provided as well as all possible cooking facilities and pots and pans etc.
As all the reviews say, this is the most unbelieveable view in CT. Pretty much as close to the sea as you can be. Wonderful to sit on the terrace with a bottle of Tuscan wine, afternoon or evening. David is an extremely helpful host, very responsive, perfect english and lots of good tips. But I'm just confirming what's already written, so thought I would add some tips: Tip 1: Most of the easier trails are closed - so unless you are a hardcore hiker, the best way to see CT from Riomaggiore is take an early ferry from Rio all the way to MonteRosso, the furthest village. (The ferry is a 3 minute walk from La Scogliera). Then take a day to work your way back using the train to ride from town to town. You need a day pass to do this on the train, so the ferry adds an extra 13 Euro, but you get the view of all the towns from the - well worth it. Makes for a lovely day that you can do at your own pace and plenty of walking even without the hikes. Tip 2: We had a long trip, including a wedding, so were travelling reasonably heavy - and this is a LONG way to carry your bags. If you parked at the top, there is a great bag service that can take your bags up to your car in the lot. This guy has a little truck, but to get the bags to the truck he puts a large suitcase on his shoulder and the other in his hand and away he goes - had to be seen to be believed. 5 Euros a bag but we thought worth it with our big bags. David can book for you.…
We travelled to Italy for 10 days. Florence 1 night, Verona 3 nights and This Hotel in the Carduva room for 6 nights. We actually extended our nights there after reading more reviews. They are all spot on. We so enjoyed our own private balcony, the sunsets, the boats coming and going, the late afternoon cliff divers, the short walk to the small grocery store or to restaurants or train. Yes, there are a ton of steps but we found many days we weren't leaving until lunchtime as we so enjoyed our little private terrace. The room is clean and well maintained. Good internet. But the location and view are a lifelong memory. We would love to go back but........so many places on our bucket list. This is definitely a 5 star place/location/memory.
