There is a wide selection of places to stay in Monterosso from small and cheap to relatively expensive. The Magherita is towards the top end of the scale but it offers an excellent quality of service. We stayed 7 nights and were not disappointed. The staff are helpful in the extreme and the quality of cleanliness throughout is second to non. Breakfasts are included in the Tariff and the range and quality are extremely good indeed. It is well situated in the centre of the old town surrounded by the many attractions of the resort. I commend it to any potential traveller to the Cinq Terres.
Great spot, breakfast was good, we loved the view of the street. Would definitely recommend! It was quiet at night and the cutest little charcuterie bar next door. My one regret is that we didn’t try the pizza that was being made on the bottom floor of this hotel. It smelled so good, but we didn’t get a chance to try!
After much research, we chose our lodging in Monterosso and were not disappointed. The Hotel Margherita is the perfect reprieve from your exploration of Cinque Terre. The location is amazing, a beautiful walk from the train station, Surrounded by restaurants, quaint shops and wine tasting and just moments from the beach. Our arrival was seamless. The room was ready early much to our surprise. Francesca, greeted us warmly and provided us with exceptional service throughout our stay. The room was fairly basic but featured a balcony w a view we will never forget. Breakfast is substantial and the bar offered a well deserved cocktail each evening. Cinque Terre was a highlight of our tour of Italy and the Margherita made the perfect base camp.
Very nice hotel, great staff and excellent breakfast! Walk out your door and you are steps from restaurants and shops. Monterosso and this hotel are great if you enjoy a pleasant walk along the ocean!
We really enjoyed this hotel especially for its fabulous location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Everything in the village was easily walkable. We had a nice room and a large terrace where we could sit and have a drink and watch the action in the streets below. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Pricy but you are paying for location. If you arrive by car, you have to park at the top of the village and walk down with your suitcases. Would definitely stay here again.
This hotel captures the quaintness of the this small village. Location is great in walking distance to everything. Hotel is clean and staff if very accommodating. Wonderful breakfast buffet as well. High recommendations from us!
Small but very nice in the most perfect location with lovely people at the reception and sweet and lovely owner .the breakfast is simple and nice serving with different fresh fruits The room I took was lovely with a small balcony . I will go back for sure
Welcoming and helpful staff, large, clean room, good breakfast, excellent location, if ever we come back to the area would not hesitate to use this little hotel again. There was a little unavoidable street noise at night caused by the need for daily refuge collection but that it a small price to pay for staying in an unspoilt little town.
The location was good BUT we stayed in the section with balconies (room 505) and we could hear every word that our neighbors said! No exaggeration- I can tell you their friends names, they called someone to say Happy Anniversary, heard what they did during the day, EVERY WORD. And then we heard the guy in another room snoring. It was the worst experience ever! Around midnight my husband finally said “OK good night everyone!” I cannot comment on rooms in main part of hotel but this was terrible.
we very much enjoyed our stay at hotel Margherita. All the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the view from our terrace was spectacular! Especially the night we sat out sipping limoncino and watching the full moon rise! The AC was plentiful. So much so that we had to increase the temp!
