Excellent Hotel with American standards!
Hotel room was larger than most I have found in Italy and the bathroom was very modern with a large American size shower. The shower had an adjustable height bar for the removable hand wand and the bathroom had good lighting. The room was immaculate with a king size bed, tile flooring, tv, and mini refrigerator. Beautiful door with real working shutters opened to our own patio with chairs, table, and lounge chair. Self serve Breakfast buffet is included and included both hot dishes such as scrabbled eggs and bacon, and cold choices. Two very amazing coffee machines allow guests to choose the coffee of their choice with the press of a button. This hotel also includes an elevator! A rare find in the Cinque Terre! I highly recommend this hotel. Friendly staff speaks several languages.

We adored this family-owned and operated hotel! It is so clean, beautifully decorated, and best of all, the English speaking owners treat you as if you’re an actual guest in their home! The location is PERFECT if you don’t want a busy, noisy tourist trap. The views are some of the best I’ve ever seen. The breakfast which is included in the room price is delicious, fresh and hot every morning. The shuttle is so helpful and saves you time and money if you’re wanting a ride to close by attractions such as the beach. 5 stars all around - would highly recommend!! Oh, and the pool is amazing too!

There is a wide selection of places to stay in Monterosso from small and cheap to relatively expensive. The Magherita is towards the top end of the scale but it offers an excellent quality of service. We stayed 7 nights and were not disappointed. The staff are helpful in the extreme and the quality of cleanliness throughout is second to non. Breakfasts are included in the Tariff and the range and quality are extremely good indeed. It is well situated in the centre of the old town surrounded by the many attractions of the resort. I commend it to any potential traveller to the Cinq Terres.

We really enjoyed staying at Hotel Margherita in Monterosso! The hotel was a short walk from the train station, relatively flat in the Old Town. It was updated and clean. Breakfast was very well attended to by the staff and was plentiful with hot items, fruit, cheese/meats, pastries and cakes, yogurt etc. The staff was so nice and accommodating - Francesca was the best at giving information and helpful tips. Our room had a balcony facing the street which was nice to sit and have a glass of wine at the endo of the day. There is a nice seating area outside and a comfortable spacious lobby with a bar, where guests gathered in the evening. Nice vibe and charming location! You are steps from shops and restaurants; however, street noise was minimal. Great choice for a stay in Monterosso!

Honest review - checked in fine, things look nice. Get to our room, turn on AC and head to dinner to let it cool off. Set to 19C, fan high, it’s running, no reason to worry right?
Upon our return at 10:30, the room is just as hot and humid and there is an error code on the AC. Restarted it then went to the front desk to tell staff. Upon telling staff we had run the AC, it was still hot and there was an error code when we returned from dinner, the staff immediately jumped down our throats explaining “we don’t change the AC!!!” Not once did we say they did or even ask if they did, we just wanted them to know about the mechanical issue. Their central system said our room was 26C.
Incredibly defensive and hostile, clearly this is something they are sensitive about. Left a horrible impression, and when we said we weren’t accusing them of anything we just wanted to make sure the AC worked, they reminded us this is only a 3 star hotel and maybe not what we’re used to. Would’ve taken my money and ran if it wasn’t my honeymoon.

Located at the back of the old town the location was perfect. A short stroll down the cobble stones to a public beach. The water was amazingly warm. Great selection of restaurants and shops bars in the area. and quieter than you think. Our room was small and had a strange flashing light that went on and off every 10 seconds in the hall outside our room so I had to sleep with a mask on. What the size of room lacked was well and truly made up by the service and wonderful common areas we can all use and enjoy. Breakfast was more than substantial. All staff were lovely and the housekeepers worked very hard.

The hotel is in a great location in Monterosso. It was fairly quiet at night, but we did not sleep well because the bed was the hardest bed we’ve every slept on. It literally felt like a concrete slab. Zero movement when we sat or lied down on it. The bed was awful. The room had plenty of space and a lovely balcony. The bathroom was fine, if not a bit difficult. Some awkward space to put your stuff down, but it’s workable. The shower was tough. Very narrow so that you could not turn around without difficulty and the drain area was like a dip and we both slipped numerous times as it was hard to avoid stepping there with so little room to move in the shower. The staff was perfectly lovely, so I have nothing negative to say about that. Unfortunately, the breakfast was not great. The eggs were ice cold both mornings and I was there, as they were brought out of the kitchen. There was nothing special about the breakfast. The food was rather bland and boring. There is not a lot of choice if you want to stay in Cinque Terre, so it’s not a terrible hotel. Just be prepared for the hard beds, tough shower and blah breakfast. But the location and lovely staff might make it worth it for whatever your particular needs are.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Margherita. The staff (Elisa, Francesca, the gentleman who served breakfast, the lady who cooked breakfast)… all super nice and cordial. The location is perfect… in the old town of Monterroso. They also provided towels if we wanted to go to the beach. We even asked to stay longer, but unfortunately, they hotel was sold out. The only reason I am not giving it a perfect score is for two reasons.. 1. Wi-Fi was really bad, so we kind of gave up on it. 2. We had requested two rooms next to each other from a long time prior to our arrival, but they gave us one room on the 2nd floor and one on 3rd. A bit of inconvenience (family of 4 with 2 young kids). But overall, we can not wait to go back and highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights, I found it punches above its weight with its friendly staff and great location. Breakfast was fine a you can sit inside or out to eat it ,the free beach towels are a god send and are a nice touch. The wifi can be a little sketchy and the only other complaint was the constant flicking halfway lights that shine under the rather large gap in the hotel door.

Lovely accommodations, with extra pillows, hot shower, comfortably sized room, openable windows with privacy, and a common outdoor terrace for relaxing with a drink. Easy approach on the main drag. Nice breakfast. It was the first comfortable hotel we'd stayed in since our trip began in Venice.

The staff was very attentive as well, however, I wish they would have been a bit more accommodating generally, but especially since this was almost off-season and the hotel was fairly empty. For example, we wanted to take a couple of glasses to our room, but they would only give us tiny, tiny plastic cups which were not useful. While a couple of staff were fine with us taking a bucket of ice to our room, one staff person, who seemed unhappy with her job, was adamant that we could only do so if we purchased a bottle of wine, because "if I took that bucket, there might not be enough for those actually buying a bottle of wine from the hotel", which was unlikely, given the vacancy. Overall, we were happy, but given the season, I think some staff could have eased up.

Rooms have mini refrigerator and yes you can walk to different wonderful restaurants. Whichever ones you go to will all be wonderful. Choose the local dishes and local wines. I do not have information about shuttles or the airport location/distance. Sorry I did not get any notifications about any questions from the application so this info is coming kind of late.
