Enjoy your stay in Monterosso al Mare!
We enjoyed a week at Monterosso as a family of 4, staying in Hotel Baia. With a sea side view on the second floor, it was a terrific location. Simone and the staff was very friendly and accommodating to our basic needs. Big respect for Francesca at the lifeguard station! Really the only downfall i could mention is that there is no lunch or dinner served at the hotel, but there are plenty of places that make up for it.
Location, location and location.. the price you pay is called location. This place had low standards of rooms but the made up for it with good, friendly service. The breakfast served was also very nice. If you want to stay close to beach but do t expect to much this is the place to stay.
Three nights in the Cinque Terre, this was a good base. Close to the train station with hauling luggage up the hills. This century old hotel has comfortable beds and updates to the bathroom. We greatly enjoyed falling asleep to the sounds of the surf. Breakfast satisfied for a day of hiking, and a take away breakfast satisfied before an early train
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and were impressed with the proximity to the train station and location directly across from the beach (at an additional cost to use). Our room was very very clean but also very tired and dated; the decor looked like "grandma's bedroom". The mattress & pillows are not comfortable and should be replaced. The air conditioning worked well and we had a wonderful deck that was shared with only one other room. The breakfast was simple with small trays of meats, cheeses and pastries, yogurt, fruit, juice, cereal and coffee/tea. There is a laundry around the corner that will do your laundry and deliver it directly back to the hotel at a great price. As others have said, the lift is for luggage only. Be prepared to climb stairs. The highlight for me was the friendly black & white neighborhood cat, Felix, who wanders through the hotel daily. So, all in all, if you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel with a terrific location, then Hotel Baia is a good choice. That being said, if you would like something above average (and updated), Hotel Baia will not satisfy.…
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. From the minute we entered our room, we were hooked. The view from the balcony was fantastic. The bed was very comfortable. The staff at check in was friendly and at breakfast each morning made sure we had our cappuccino. A short hop across the street got us to the beach and for four days we enjoyed the lounge chairs and umbrella, for a mere €20 each day. The only negative thing I can say about this hotel is that my wife found the hairdryer would not stay on, it kept cutting out. I’m already planning the return trip!
