We decided on a trip to Tuscany at relatively short notice and chose the Hotel Baia for the overnight stays. The staff are friendly and helpful, however, at breakfast the staff seemed a bit listless and upon first entering we were constantly made aware that the area was for hotel guests only, rather than politely asking if we were guests of the hotel. Still it was ok. The breakfast is sufficient, we recommend a fresh cappuccino from the portafilter. Unfortunately, the rolls were a bit hard and the cold cuts weren't quite as fresh on the second day and had bad spots. But that can happen and the breakfast was sufficient overall. What surprised us a bit was the additional charge for the beach. However, there are two beach chairs with an umbrella for the whole day, the section is clean. On the last day I just wanted to go into the water again and placed the towel on the beach section away from it. Unfortunately the lifeguard referred me to the adjacent section, despite explaining that I am a guest of the hotel and that I am leaving in an hour. Not a problem in itself, but in my opinion an unnecessary comment for this short time. You have constant access to the hotel with a key and everything made a secure impression. We slept very well, from time to time there was some noise (which may have been due to the guests). The hotel is located right on the beach, and only about 100 meters away from the Monterosso train station. It is a lovely place and if I return to Cinque Terre, I will return to the Baia hotel. We had two rooms to the back (not with seaview), but with an amazing balcony / garden (rooms 20 and 29 share this amazing little paradise). A great place to relax after a busy day in the Cinque Terre. The rooms are clean and comfortable and with everything you need. There is an elevator only for luggage, so be prepared for the stairs.
Breakfast is a small but good buffet, and can be enjoyed outside, on the promenade with seaview. Staff is very friendly and upon check-in gave us information about trains, boats and Monterosso.

Comfortable rooms, friendly staff…Grazie Mille Simone, and breakfast provided. Also, they have air conditioning, no smoking rooms and Seaview rooms of beautiful Ligurian sea and private beach.
All needs met with great housekeeping as well.
Only suggestion is that hotel guests should not have to pay separately and daily for beach chairs and umbrella. Perhaps an optional flat rate charge for your entire stay.

This Hotel’s good point is its location. On the other hand, it’s Bad’s are many. Worst is the front desk staff, unfriendly and unhelpful. The only way to your room are the stairs (4 flights got old quick) the elevator is for luggage only. The hotel’s beach area is lounge chairs only at a charge of 25 euro/day & in addition to that for an added fee, you have to rent a towel or go to the store and buy one. The public parking down the street is 25 euro/night. Lastly is the A/C which will now cool below 26 C/ 79 F seemed to have a preset minimum temp. no matter where you set it.

Great location but everything else was terrible. there is no elevator, the front desk staff are some of the rudest i have come across, they are something to behold. i guess because of the beach front location the reception staff think they have a license to be rude to everyone.

Lovely! We so enjoyed our stay. The owners and staff were so efficient and the rooms were very clean and refreshed each day. Our room included a beach chair and umbrella (you need to provide your own towel) and a full breakfast each day. Highly recommend this hotel. We had a room for four and it included a terrace. The hotel is steps away from the train station and our room was on the second floor. It was quiet. There is also an elevator to for your bags and the airconditioning was nice and cool.
