Even if it's been a while since I stayed there, I keep comparing all the Hotels I'm staying at to this one. Excellent service, fantastic views and superb breakfast! My road trip around Europe was back in 2014, so you must have done something right to make me remember my stay all these years. Wishing you all the best in these difficult times! Best Regards Kristoffer
We took a cooking class today and omg what a day of fun and laughter with chef and great food that we learnt to cook and eat ..... we meet our drive down Monterosso and other couple’s that joined us.. don’t miss out on a cooking class
This hotel is 5km from the town of Monterosso al Mare. A shuttle bus takes guests free of charge to the town, but at specified times. Journeys outwit these times can be arranged for 10 euros. The staff are courteous, not exactly friendly, although not rude. The rooms are very basic and quite cheaply fitted out. No air conditioning in bedrooms, although an oscillating fan, along with ear plugs, is provided. There is a cook school twice a day at a cost of 175 euros in the morning or 75 euros in the evening. The same dishes are taught at every session and the answer to the question is semolina! Cook school customer always take priority over hotel guests when waiting for the transport back to the hotel, which can result in quite a long wait.
First, the good. The hotel is clean and the included breakfast was good - a few hot items. The bad; The location is several miles out of town. They offer a free shuttle that runs about hourly. Don't miss the last one at 2100 or you'll pay 45Euro to a taxi. The worst part was the noise. Our last night, a wedding reception was held at the hotel. It's a very small hotel and the DJ was right under our bedroom window. With no air conditioning, one must open the window for ventilation. The music was so loud that the water glasses literally vibrated off the bathroom shelf. When I complained to the manager, she said that she would not charge us for the last night. The next morning at check out. was a different story. The day manager charged my credit card the full amount even though I told him it was not authorized. He lied to us and told us to call booking.com and tell them we were no-shows.…
This hotel was located ages away from the main area so it was a little inconvenient. The location was amazing in its own way though - being in mountains was refreshing. Staff were extremely friendly however there weren't many of them. Shuttle service to the main area was helpful. Wish I could've stayed in the Cinque Terre longer and would definitely consider this place again if I stayed in Monterosso al Mare. No problems with the room - beds were comfortable.
The staff was very helpful. The room was a bit small for 4 people and hence it was hot. We requested for an additional fan and it was immediately made available. The shuttle service from the hotel to the town centre was very regular and very helpful. The breakfast offered a good variety and a small cafe next door provided extra options.
We stayed in a room with a double bed and a bunk bed for two kids. The room was large enough for everyone (30m2) and the bathroom was sufficiently large. I should also mention the beds were quite comfortable, not hard, flat boards like many less-expensive hotels. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. We ate breakfast there and it was good. Meats, cheeses, hard boiled eggs, fresh pastries, jam, honey (and fresh honeycomb), yogurt, etc. This hotel is at the top of the hill, 4 or 5 km from Monterosso but an easy drive to either part of town. Also, this hotel is a great place to stay if you want to hike the many trails that are on the upper part of Cinqe Terre. You can walk to Levanto or Vernazza (or any of the five towns) starting from this spot. They have a shuttle and are very friendly about organizing pick-ups in town.…
The hospitality and service was great! We came in through the train and they sent the shuttle to pick us up. This hotel is "alto" so it is high in the mountains. There is a local bus shuttle that drops off/picks up right in front of the hotel, but it is unreliable. This location makes it difficult to get around at this time of year. It is off-season, so not many places were open/available to get around. So I would consider this when booking.
Wonderful place to stay and was filled with Old World charm. Wished we had stayed here longer. The owners/staff are friendly and accommodating. They offer a free shuttle service which brings you down to the village area and back. If you want to come back at a different time, call the front desk. There is a minimal charge which was well worth it. There is a breakfast buffet and full bar and it was wonderful to sit outdoors on their patio area. This hotel also runs cooking classes frequently which looked to be a lot of fun. Very laid back perfect for couples and families. I would definitely stay here again even though it wasn't in the village area because of the hotel parking alone. Only downside for those with mobility issues was no elevators.
Rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel was about 5 minutes from the town of Monterosso however there was a shuttle bus that took us down and brought us back up. Breakfast is incredible with hot croissant every morning. One night we had a wonderful outside dining experience with delicious food and fabulous service at the hotel. Loved being away from the town, very enjoyable especially if you want to experience Italy. The staff couldn't be any more accommodating. Would definitely recommend and go back.
