Manorola would have to be the most stunning coastal place I have seen. The buildings, history, little shops &food are amazing.Would recommend everyone to experience this place. The trains make it easily accessible and you can visit each hamlet in a day.The weather in may was nice and pleasant but not warm enough yet for a swim.
Very nice acomodation at luigia 1 in manarola. Claudio was very helpful and facilated our stay here. nice appartment on the top of Manorola with a very nice terrasse to enjoy the sunset with a spritz.
It is always difficult to find the right service provider from a distance. Before our arrival to Portovenere, I had asked our hotel to book a private boat tour for me and my family. The offers were not convincing at all, so I started to search the web myself. I believe, I found one of the best ones. The skipper was cool, polite and knowledgable, the tour was well organized, the food was amazing, and the price was also very reasonable. I am highly recommending the service of Claudio and his team! Thank you!!!
We stayed at Francesca 1 in Manarola for 3 nights. Claudio met us at the train station and escorted us up to the apartment. Views are amazing. Apartment was simple and exactly what we were looking for. Clean, tidy and excellent location. Would love to come back again and again. Claudio was wonderful to deal with. If you like to walk/hike you will adore this place. Not good for people that are limited in walking abilities.
I found Giorgio 1 through another website but liked it enough to review it for Trip Advisor. Simone Livadoti was our contact and host. We arrived by train in Manarola later than we expected, but since we stayed in touch with Simone by texting, he greeted us right where we exited the tunnel and showed us directly to the room. What attracted me to the room was the amazing view from the patio - I had to have it! That being said, I didn't think that a view of that caliber comes with a climb - and what a climb! It's steep and has stairs too. While Simone offered to carry my backpack, after he told us that 87 year-old women make this trip multiple times a day, I had a point to make!! And the walk is gorgeous - I'd do it again and again. The room was through a gate and down some stairs, but you're rewarded the the smell of fresh herbs planted alongside. The room was open, airy, bright and clean. Not luxurious, but everything we needed and besides, how much time do you actually want to spend inside? While we didn't cook, there kitchen was just right if you wanted to. Everything is provided: towels, soap, etc. As previously mentioned, dal Billy's is a couple of yards further down the same walk to Giorgio and worth trying. It's very popular and it's obvious why (but that's another review!). What bears mentioning is the fact that Simone and his partners also run Nessun Dorma, a bistro / cafe up the other side of the town and the BEST place in Manarola for late afternoon drinks and apps. We just stopped in to say "Hi", but the view was so spectacular, we stayed. Giorgio 1 is a great place to stay and I would recommend it to any couple, any hardy couple! Go stay and help Simone realize his dream of his own vineyard!…
