We felt in love with Cinque Terre! In particular, we liked our B&B! We enjoyed (the owner) Isabella's kind and sweet demeanor. Really enjoyed her smiling disposition when she delivered the breakfast every morning. The breakfast were quite filling, with croissants, jams, Nutella, fresh fruits, yogurt, orange juice. I loved the way Isabella was so resourceful in getting a little 'spider like device' to retrieve a laundry piece that has fallen off the clothes line. Clever! We learn something new everyday! : ) It was sad to have to go. We loved the place, and the location so much that we would had loved to stay for a few more days, but, unfortunately, it was already reserved. The studio was the perfect place for a couple. Airy, clean, quiet, everything you need for a base to explore the 5 Cinque Terre towns. Really, really enjoyed the little balcony. I have to say that I loved Manarola the most, of the five towns; Corniglia was 2nd. We would explored the trails during the day, then head down to one of the towns for lunch, swimm, and stroll in the evening to enjoy the vibrancy of the locals night life after dinner. Important to note that after 11:00pm things do quiet down, which makes perfect for a much needed restful night, after hiking all day. We enjoyed the restaurants near by. The local grill octopus with potatoes was delicious! I tried every way Octopus was made in Cinque Terre; of course, with the local wines, which were exquisite! It was great to hike among the vineyards, and experience the wine farmers way of life. The vineyards climb quickly and steeply in the cliffs in terrace like farming. Not fort the faint of heart! However, the views are phenomenal! We were delightfully surprised when we learn that the place was near the train station, and easy to get to, without involving a long climb. The location was perfect. I will definitely come back to Isabella's place!…
The room is very clean and offers everything you need. It's located on the quiet side of the village and is also very close to the start of the trails. The owners are lovely and very friendly. Isabella and her husband are also very helpful and a good source of knowledge regarding the local hikes and places to go. We would definitely stay here again!
As other reviewers have said the hosts do not speak English but their daughter in-law Christina speaks fluent English and owns the Cinque Terre Trekking shop which you will pass to get here. She is extremely helpful when it comes to suggesting routes to hike and giving directions on how to start the routes from Manarola. The hosts are very flexible and brought breakfast down for us as early as 7am (we obviously communicated this through Christina). The room we stayed in was right on the first floor. The room was very clean and tidy and had a mini-fridge and microwave inside. This was one of the best places we stayed on our Italy trip. Great value and good location -Manarola is beautiful!
Isabella has received us with a big smile and has made everything possible to make us feel home. The rooms are extremely clean, tne furniture is new (some pictures are too old) and the breakfast (croissant, orange juice, jam, butter, youghourt, nutella and crackers) gives you all you need to start the day. It's humble, but simply perfect!
Nice stay in Manarola. Christina was good resource of places to hike. The owner was very nice. She even put up with my very poor Italian. The place was quiet and very clean. We had bought our tickets to go from Monterossa to Milan and I left them in the apartment. Well the owner brought it all the way to the train station which is a good distance from her place. I would not have known until we got to Monterossa. Thank you very much.
