We waited too late to book hotels at the beginning of the summer, and ended up staying in three separate locations over the course of a five day stay in Trieste—but the two nights we had at Residenza Le 6A, by far the best hotel of our trip, more than made up for it. The room and building beautifully preserved early 20th century details (a period elevator, wood parquetry, Viennese-style chairs at the breakfast table—the listing photos don’t do it justice!) while providing modern conveniences (renovated bathroom, full kitchenette, very clean). The manager, Gabrielle, is extremely friendly, clearly passionate about the city and its history, and incredibly helpful wrt storing belongings after checkout. Thoughtful touches such as James Joyce decorated biscotti and a voucher for two free coffees at Caffe San Marco were lovely and contributed to the hotel’s graceful & subdued evocation of Joyce and Svevo’s Mitteleuropa. We also didn’t realize this before booking, but another pleasant surprise was that the hotel appears to be shabbos friendly (very poignant given the building’s history). Loved our stay; thank you to Gabrielle and everyone else!…
I visited Trieste with my husband and our kids (12 and 6 years old) and we stayed at the Residenza 6A. We very much enjoyed our stay, we stayed at "the settima A" which is an apartment with all comforts, both bathrooms had a large and modern shower. Both rooms are equipped with a wardrobe, which hides inside a fully equipped kitchenette, extremely functional and perfect to enjoy breakfast without leaving the rooms! Beds and pillows were comfortable and the perfect size. What I particularly appreciated was the lovely and careful decore, with period furnitures and carefully chosen upholstery. It has been clearly thought with great attention to details, without missing on "modern" comforts! The location is perfect to enjoy this beautiful city, with so much to discover! I will definitely reccomend it and I would be happy to stay there again!…
Just an overnight stop but very good all round. Centrally located with most sights and transport links within walking distance . Quite stylish decor and warm and comfortable. A modest but uninspiring buffet breakfast was provided. The only downside was the forbidding large and empty entrance hall, with a rickety old lift and dark staircase, but once you were on the first floor all was well. Good value.
well situated in the heart of trieste, pedestrian zone, the owner was very polite and nice. good beds, calm room, sweet breakfast included, but there were also cheese, eggs but no any vegetable or salami, you get an email with the code to open the door - all is easy I absolutely can recommend this place
We stayed in Residenza la 6a for 3 nights and we really loved this place. Location was a tremendous plus as it is close to the nice places to see and visit in Trieste. Train, bus and boat just at a walking distance. Many nice bars, restaurants and caffe around, a couple just by the entrance . If you are in the shopping mood, many gorgeous boutiques to treat yourself. Breakfast is simple but really nice with good coffee. Gabriella, the nice and elegant lady who runs this place, is a charming host with a taste for details. Clearly she loves her city and can provide good advice for tourists. Thanks Gabriella for your hospitality and good tips! We enjoyed our stayed very much. Whenever in Trieste, din’t hesitate just stay in this wonderful B&B. Highly highly recommendable!!!
This is such a convenient place just where you want it. The manageress is very helpful and likes to chat. We had problems with the air conditioning during our stay but she was very apologetic and was clearly trying hard to resolve it. If I had to criticise I would say the breakfast needs a bit of a lift and if you’re there for any length of time it could get a bit dull every day. Needs more variety.
We liked this place a lot. The pedestrian street was quiet. The room was small, but well equipped. We liked the set-up, which we are beginning to see more often; you get a code to open the door and the staff is there when you need them--early in the morning for breakfast and checkout, but otherwise not hanging around watching your every move, although the related travel agency across the hall is open business hours. The breakfast was nice, with excellent croissants and boiled eggs, plus cheeses, yogurt, fruit, coffee. The coffee from the machine was not the best we had on this trip but not the worst either. Gabrielle is helpful and very organized, and her staff are all fluent English speakers too, with good restaurant suggestions. The entrance seems dark and gloomy until you figure out where the light is--on the left.…
We arrived in Trieste by car. Although there is no parking due to being in a pedestrian designated area, Gabriella has made an arrangement with a nearby parlking garage. The B&B on the first floor of an office building. Gabriella took the space & converted it into rooms with a large breakfast room & an enclosed terrace type room. Our room was small but very quiet & clean. Breakfast was simple. Gabriella is just a beautiful host.
This is just the sort of place I love to stay. It's small and friendly, quiet, clean, nicely furnished, with comfortable beds and a good shower. Due to the quadruple glazing, once our window on to the street was closed, we didn't hear a sound - very important for people who live in the countryside when visiting a city. The location is superb, just a couple of minutes from the Grand Canal and close to the sea and the Piazza dell'Unita. We truly felt we'd found our home away from home in Trieste, with a charming, helpful, knowledgeable host, and like-minded guests to share travel tips with at breakfast.
Nice Hotel in the Center of Triest. Some rooms are very small. Aircondition is not really working at all, so during the summer time it is very hot in the room with no chance to cool it. Common rooms and guest rooms are very clean and really nice equipped. Location is perfect located in the pedestrian zone.....not reachable with car. Breakfast ist italian standard not a big surprise. No problem with Late check in.
