Welcome to the Grand Hotel Rimini, welcome to charm! The Grand Hotel Rimini, the five star deluxe hotel which has always been considered as the symbol of "La Dolce Vita" on the Adriatic Riviera, is a magnificent building with more than a 100 years history. Inaugurated in 1908, a national monument since 1984, the Grand Hotel Rimini has always welcome a large number of celebrities: the tenor Caruso, the Duce Mussolini, Gorbatchev, Bush Senior, Federico Fellini and his wife Giulietta Masina, Lady Diana, Christian Barnard, Tony Blair, Sharon Stone, Albert of Monaco, Edward of Windsor and the Dalai Lama, just to mention a few. With the taking over of the Batani family in 2007, major renovation works have been immediately started following the criteria imposed by the Italian Ministery of Fine Arts and today the Grand Hotel Rimini is back to its ancient splendour, especially the mythical Liberty facade. New, precious materials such as travertine, onyx and white marbles from northern Italy beautifully combine with the renovated original parquet flooring and Venetian flooring in the ancient ballrooms, in a beautiful harmony between old and new, history and present time. The ambitious project will be completed with the setting of the famous domes that went destroyed during the terrible fire that broke out in July 1920.The Grand Hotel Rimini is defined by its guests as a "magnificent oasis of tranquility." It is surrounded by a luxuriant garden of centennial pine trees, olive trees and flowers and stands just a few steps away from the private beach of golden sand, with a kids’ swimming-pool, restaurant-bar and a wellness centre, open in summer time.At just one kilometre from the hotel, the historical centre of Rimini is the heart of luxury shopping and night life. Culture and the arts are also very well represented thanks to major international art exhibitions organized every year inside Castelsismondo, the several castles dating back to the Malatesta seigniory (1500) and extraordinary Roman remains.High oeno-gastronomy is the specialty of the house. The hotel’s ancient ball rooms are the beautiful setting to "La Dolce Vita" restaurant where the Chef Claudio Di Bernardo and his brigade are proud to welcome you. Simple, natural and wholesome qualify the chef’s strong passion for good cuisine. In summertime, dinner is served on the magnificent terrace overlooking the sea and the gardens. The atmosphere is unique: the gentle sea breeze, the excellent cuisine, the elegant orchestra playing romantic music on the backdrop of the famous Liberty facade... Just like one of the famous scenes from Amarcord by the great film-maker Federico Fellini!

Any time you want something from reception you wait a long time or have to get the attention of the reluctant staff from the office behind. Nobody clears dirty plates at breakfast.... But worst of all, the Hotel can’t bring irons to the room, which is understandable as it’s an old hotel with fire risks; but when told that a pressing service is available instead with NO mention i will be charged 28 EUR for a brief pressing of a dress and when you have to argue with a very unmotivated and arrogant receptionist about it at check out, this earns a one star rating. The attitude and overall experience is NOT 5* Also it’s not specified that when you pay a 55EUR supplement for sea view the room is not facing the sea but has in my view partial sea view as it’s still to the side ... Etc etc Won’t come back and can’t recommend.

110 years old but worn very well! Staff very kind and helpfull, beautiful, bright dinner room with a rich breakfast buffet. Our room was big and clean, and the bathroom recently renewed. Also the beach resort looks nice even if during our stay the weather was so cold and raging that we couldn’t enjoy the beach at all!

This is true Italian luxury at best. Great rooms, food but especially the service is top class with a combination of style and warmth which I found unique. All the amenities of first class hotels but also a friendly service at your disposal. Big thank you to all the staff which was again greatly professional.

From the minute we drove through the gates the staff couldn’t do enough for us . We were met in the car park and the porter took our bags to reception . The receptionist showed us to our room. The bags were there in minutes . The room was beautiful and spotless. The toiletries and linen first class. The communal areas are grand and beautifully and elegantly furnished . The terraces and grounds are immaculate. We were in the main building and not the annex. We had a very good night’s sleep and breakfast was excellent . It’s certainly 5 stars from me ! A truly world class hotel

The location of the hotel is impressive, right by the water, but on a calm and quiet street. Pretty modern and nice bright decor on the inside, the other guests were also quiet people. There is a free included breakfast, it was pretty standard as is in other hotels we've been to. All in all, great amenities, nice staff, and nice surroundings - interaction with the reception was always positive and fast.
