My husband and I just returned from a lovely stay at the incredibly charming B&B Al Battistero d'Oro. This b&b is whimsical, and we felt like it was our very own special little corner of Parma. The room was modern, incredibly clean, and had many amenities that we really appreciated -- bottles of water, 2 chairs and a table (for...

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Al Battistero d'Oro for two nights. As others have noted Patrizia is a charming, warm and helpful host. Staying in her gorgeous palazzo is a real treat! It has gorgeous old world charm with great Wi-Fi and great attention to detail. Patrizia served us a lovely breakfast each morning...

Before you read my impressions of Al Battistero D'Oro you should know this: I am reluctant to stay at B&B's. I've had some odd and uncomfortable stays over the years and much prefer boutique hotels with a bit more anonymity. So when I say that Al Battistero is the quintessential Parma experience, you'll know it was a great experience. It...

This is a very special place for very special people. If you want to get a true real heartfelt sense of how Parmese people live, stay here. This is no ordinary B&B. You will be immersed with art, history, culture, and Patrizia's (the owner) wonderful sense of humour and joie de vivre. Wander around the streets and you will hear...

This was just an absolutely lovely place with amazing decorations and style. The host was extremely warm and helpful, and the b&b is centrally located, and walking distance to the main downtown Parma area. We will definitely return and try to stay here again. Just a few rooms so book early!

....particularly since I was in Parma for a few days traveling alone. But I didn't feel alone because Patrizia was so conscious for me. The stay here was also very comfortable and charming. This is the only B&B in Parma that is actually in a home , and Patrizia made me feel at home.

Patrizia, the owner, was a most warm and helpful hostess. She provided tireless information, suggestions, maps and great conversations. It was like coming to stay with a favorite aunt you never knew you had. The breakfast was delicious and consisted of eggs, pastries, bread, juice and tea/coffee. The room we stayed in was lovely and blissfully cool with an A/C. The...

It's all been said in the reviews below! But I will say it again, Al Battistero d'Oro is an exceptional B&B. Perfectly located in the town centre with parking nearby, it is quiet, secure, chic and charming. There are two lovely rooms which are elegantly and thoughtfully appointed. Nothing has been left to chance. Patritzia Valenti, in whose family home...

Patrizia is a most welcoming hostess and her home is beautiful, just off a courtyard in the old city. It was clean and comfortable and only a few minutes from the centre. She gave us good advice on museums, restaurants, although one was closed due to technical problems, and on how to visit Modena by train for the day. She speaks...

Going back and forth from the B&B we felt like locals with our own apartment in town. Better yet we had the incomparable Patricia as our hostess! She is vivacious, welcoming, and very knowledgeable - treating us like members of her own family - and her home is lovely, furnished with 18th and 19th century antiques as well as some...
