I made a City visit to Bologna in December. Hotel Roma was my base for two days. Staff was friendly when I checked in. The room was individually styled and perfect for my needs. Quiet and comfortable. Good WiFi. A short walk to any place in the historic center of Bologna. Breakfast is included. Very nice and efficiently laid out...

This was my second visit to this hotel for business. I stayed 5 nights on a B&B basis and it was just what I needed. Clean room, freshly made up each day, lovely hot shower and a comfortable bed. Breakfast was a continental buffet which was ideal after a lovely dinner each evening in various local restaurants. The location is...

I was not expecting to love this hotel as much from the pictures I had seen but because there was a huge ceramics convention in town, it was very difficult, and exceedingly expensive to find anything else. But I am glad I did because I really enjoyed my stay there. Yes, it is not a totally modern hotel, but my...

In my room, there was very annoying periodical hum starting from 4 in the morning. It could be heard every 2 minutes again and again. I informed the hotel staff about the annoying hum, and they replied that they will solve the problem. When I came back in the evening after the working day (after sleepless night), the hum still...

I stayed at the Hotel Roma during the Il Cinema Ritrovato festival, and had a great experience. The hotel is centrally located, and very close to the Piazza Maggiore. The only drawback here was the noise from the streets that carries up to the rooms (I was staying on the first floor, by British standards). The room was clean and...

Beautifully appointed restaurant with a/c. Staff very attentive and nice. Condiments, bread station and fruit beautifully displayed. 4 course dinner was over the top. Cheese tortellini soup was perfectly salted and full of flavor. Bolognese sauce with pasta was terrific and correctly portioned. Salad was fresh and veggies sweet.

Stayed a couple of nights on business, great position for Piazza Maggiore. Step out of the front door to the buzz of the city, loads of bars and restaurants close by. The hotel restaurant was actually very good, good menu choice and the quality of food excellent. Would use again, for vacation base for exploring Bologna.

As a centrally located hotel, I expected some noise, but there was constant, loud sounds throughout the ENTIRE night. A great location, close to Piazza Maggiore, but if you seek a quiet location, this would not be my recommendation. However, the most alarming part of my experience was the customer service in the dining room for breakfast. The restaurant was...
