We stayed for two nights. The rooms were very nice and quiet and the beds very comfortable. Location could not have been better. Staff, especially the receptionist and manager, did everything to make our stay perfect. Thank you Roberta and Michele! We were recommended a nearby restaurant called Ciacco which was also fantastic!

We looked for a hotel with convenient access to historic Bologna and the Corona d'Oro delivered in spades. It was a short stroll to all that you would ever wish to see in the city and the staff were delightful. If we ever returned to Bologna we would certainly use the Corona d'Oro again.

We stayed for 3 nights and thought the hotel was lovely, we had a quiet room with rooftop views, great a/c, marble bathroom, comfy bed. Breakfast was good, the staff were pleasant. There are lovely restaurants nearby too. We loved our stay in Bologna, one word of warning about the beggars though - there is a middle aged woman with... More

Nice hotel, the service was ok. The staff were very friendly. Perfect location for seeing the whole of Bologna either by foot or you can borrow the hotel bikes which is included in the room rate. Remember to book them so they can get them ready though.

Thought that we had book a very nice hotel. Lobby and rooms are nice but poor service. Even if paying 40 € pr night I had to drive my car my selves to the garage far from the hotel and walk back - the same when we should have the car back - I had to walk my selves bringing... More

We were a party of three adults wishing to stay in one room and were accommodated in a very luxurious suite (1 D and 1S). The hotel staff were all very friendly and welcoming and made a number of great suggestions including where to dine in the evening. Our suite was very comfortably furnished with a wonderful original painted ceiling.... More

We loved this luxury boutique hotel and loved the gorgeous city of Bologna. The position of the hotel was perfect to explore and enjoy the fantastic sights and restaurants of Bologna. We had two spacious rooms for our family and each one had stunning authentic historic features. The combination of comfort and luxury was just right. The wonderful and friendly... More

We found this hotel on line. What a piece of luck. Bologna is a fantastic base to see this part of Italy. (The rail station is only 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel). We did a day trip to Venice. That said Bologna is a great place to visit, and Hotel Corona D'Oro is right in the center. You can... More

This propert is beautifully maintained the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was a generous size and classically styled. The location was perfect. We could see 3 towers from our window. There is a happy hour for 10 Euros per person with a drink and nibbles but wrongly did this once and we were the only guests present.... More

We loved the traditional building, authentic breakfast and also the good air conditioning. The room was a bit on the small side and we had a view of an alley. The bathroom was up to date with good facilities. Bed was very comfy. We got great advice on places to eat and where to visit.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Just a short distance from the two Towers and Piazza Maggiore, in the serene setting of medieval Bologna, you will find the Hotel Corona d'Oro 1890. Its peaceful location, just a hundred meters from the two towers, is the perfect base for your visit to Bologna: its elegant furnishings and magnificent frescoes, together with a staff that is exceptionally attentive to your needs, will make your stay at our Hotel unforgettable. The palazzo, which in the 15th century was the prestigious residence of the noble Azzoguidi family, traces its origins to the 13th century. The hotel takes the visitor on a journey through various stylistic and architectural eras: from the magical art deco in the lobby, back to the frescoes of coats of arms and landscapes from the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, and back still further to the medieval severity of the coffered ceilings which adorn the Azzoguidi conference hall and the stately portico outside. The thoroughly renovated Hotel Corona d'Oro provides upscale amenities that ensure a luxurious and comfortable stay, fitting for even the most discerning of guests. It also offers first-class suites and spaces for conferences, meetings, and exhibitions, all of which feature independent access. ... more   less
