    An okay syay
I stayed at the NH Bologna for 2 nights on business and my stay was pleasant and comfortable. Check-in was easy and the gentleman who checked me in was full of laughter and made the process stress free. Location wise it’s extremely close to the centre with access to both buses and trains if you plan to travel around Italy for day trips. The room itself was a deluxe double which boasted a really comfortable bed and a spotless bathroom with a bathtub. Shower had some issues but nothing of major concern. WiFi was pretty slow at times and I really didn’t want to have to pay for the faster service but maybe I should of done. No coffee or tea facilities which is common with NH but keep forgetting when I arrive. The noisy corridors and door slamming were an issue around 7am on both mornings but during the night I had no complaints. I chose not to have breakfast as the prices were a bit steep but the price of the room was fair without the breakfast. I’d happily stay again if the price was right.
Dear Guest, First and foremost we would like to thank you for the time you took to evaluate our hotel about your recent staying. We are glad to note that your experience with us was excellent and we look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel, in a next trip to Bologna. Best regards.

    Quick response...
Very well located, at only a few steps from Bologna central station. The proximity with the station allows this hotel to serve like a hub to travel to Venice or Milan in the same day. It is a modern hotel, perhaps orientated to businessmen. Comfortable room and bed and soundproof from the outside. Very pleasant staff and ready to help. We had an incident during our stay... one of the light lamps turned on during the night (5.00 am) without been switched on. And we had to call the on duty concierge who propose us to change the room. We had to improvise that night with some duct tape to cover the lamp but our room was changed next morning to a upgraded one. A very quick and convenient move. The bathroom is also excellent, very clean with hot water quickly available. Breakfast is really good with multiple choices of fruits, breads, pastries and cold meat. Perhaps a better selection of juices would improve it. A very nice option if planning a trip to Bologna

    Disappointing
Bergamo was the last stay of our honeymoon so we wanted somewhere central but close to the airport. We checked in and the room was ok but we couldn't access the WiFi so I called reception and was put on hold for nearly 8 minutes before I gave up and put the phone down. I ended up going down to reception to sort the issue out and requested a 2nd key card, which didn't work. The breakfast, whilst included in the hotel rate, was probably the worst breakfast we have ever had with the hot buffet completely cold and the coffee machine delivering luke warm coffee. That to one side, the hotel is central and convenient for exploring and the airport.
Dear Guest, First of all, I would like to thank You for the time You took to evaluate our hotel. We would like to ask You to verify if the hotel You have choose for your comment is correct because We read about Bergamo and not Bologna and Is not possible for us to be sure that the comment is really referred to our hotel. Anyway, In case our hotel is the correct one, We would like to offer our apologize for each inconvenience You have experienced but if the hotel has been wrongly selected, please, be so kind to modify your comment to avoid to penalize our hotel. Best regards.

The hotel is a 10 minutes walk from the piazza maggiore which makes it quite convenient. They have a roof top bar for the hotel quests only which is nice as it makes it less crowded. Breakfast is rich and the variety great. Good restaurants are available within a 5 minute walk. We would go there again.

This was a nice hotel, very close to the train station not even up to a 5 mins walk but also walkable to other areas including the main square. The hotel was nicely decorated and clean. One gentlemen on front desk was very helpful and friendly. The lifts are tiny though which was a bit odd, just barely fit two of us and each of our luggage. We had a room where there wasn't much of a view but because of where it was it was quiet. Room was also spacious (had extra bed) and beds comfortable. Only annoying point was that housekeeping took my towel on day 4, which I had brought from home even though I had hung it up and tried to put it to one side. They had left it alone on other days and it did not have the nh emblem on it like other towels so not sure why it was taken. I couldn't quite give 4 stars overall as it is nothing special and seeing the normal standard rooms, think we would have been quite squashed. I also didn't love the area so don't think I would choose to stay here again.

The hotel is very easy to get to from Bologna airport. We took the Marconi express straight into Bologna Centrale ( 7 minutes by monorail). The hotel is opposite the station which made it a very easy journey. It is situated approx 12 minutes walk from Piazza Maggiore. There are numerous cafes, eateries along the way. Being near the station made it particularly easy to get to other Italian cities, we took the train to Ravenna approx 1 hour away; again it was an easy, comfy journey We were given a deluxe room on the 1st floor. It was very clean, quite large and overlooked the back of the hotel. All the staff were extremely friendly and efficient. We had particularly good service from the gentleman receptionist with red glasses (apologies for not knowing his name) and the breakfast and bar staff. The reception area has comfy seats and there are at least 3 lifts. Breakfast is buffet style with plenty of croissants, bread, cakes, cereals, juices, hot breakfast those who wanted it etc and a proper juicer. There was an issue with the toilet that kept flushing by itself, however, we were moved immediately to another (smaller) room. All in all, we enjoyed our stay.

Walk out of train station, cross the road, walk to the large road junction and you can see the hotel next to the piazza to your right. Easy! Nice welcome from reception. A couple of hours early but room was ready so we could check in. Room good size with lots of wardrobe space, kettle and coffee making. Brilliant bathroom with all toiletries that you need. About 15 minutes walk to Piazza Maggiore so outside of crazy busy zone. Breakfast good quality with own juicers to make healthy drinks. Normal cakes, pastries, cooked meats, cheeses, fruit, yogurt, cereal. Small selection eggs, bacon, sausage but the continental variety. Lovely stay for short stopover. Would I pick this hotel again? Yes !

Very conveniently located 2 minutes walk from Bologna Centrale, lots of shops and eateries nearby, and close to historic centre. The hotel itself is clean, modern, and good facilities. Water bottles are not provided, a number of supermarkets nearby to cheaply purchase from. The main issue was the noise levels at night. On weekday nights the hotel has a rooftop bar, so guests staying on the square side of the building must endure loud pounding music causing walls and floors to vibrate 9pm-1am (which they are not informed of in advance). The hotel has rebranded itself to cater for party goers, at the expense of paying guests trying to rest and sleep in peace which is a shame. We were refunded for one night and had to move rooms for another night as we had an early start so being disturbed until 1am was not an option. If you value peace and your sleep, avoid rooms on the square (next to the gardens of Parco della Montagnola). Which unfortunately also has the best views. Or select a hotel more orientated towards positive experiences for guests paying to stay there,

This was our first stay at an NH property. We spent three nights here and booked it partially for logistical reasons and partially because it looked like a nice hotel. It's a 4 minute walk from the central train station which makes it ideally situated for traveling in and out of the city by train, but also easily accessible by car. That's a huge selling feature. It's also a 10-15 minute walk to the main city centre straight down the adjacent street. The hotel itself is comfortable enough for a short stay. The lobby and restaurant areas are nice, but it's the only hotel we stayed at during our trip that felt empty, like it just seemed to lack real hospitality. Complimentary water was a standard everywhere we went except here. Wifi is slow unless you opt to pay for faster speed. Everything in the mini bar was way overpriced (go to the mini mart nearby instead). Not much interaction with staff that made you feel welcome (although front desk staff were good to deal with). The room was modern and a good size. Housekeeping came daily, but standards are questionable. The wall in the washroom had wipe marks all over it and didn't look clean, the top shelf in the closet was covered in dust so we didn't use it. The drapes had stains and a tear that was poorly sewn instead of being replaced. The bed was manageable for a short stay, but we found the mattress to be very bouncy. If one person moved, the entire bed shook. The deal breaker for me was the room temperature control. We weren't able to reduce the temperature below 22C (it felt like 30C outside). Even when we tried to control the set point at the lowest temperature it didn't do much to affect the humidity in the room. Not sure if this is something that is centrally controlled by the hotel to save on energy bills, as the day of our departure we miraculously could adjust it below 22C. Also, when you take out the door card and leave the room everything turns off including the A/C. We came back to a hot room every day - enough to soften chocolate. The bathroom is a good size, but shows wear. Above average counter space for Italy. However, the wall outlet is IN the wall mounted hairdryer and it says shavers only. I travel with an EU approved dual voltage straightener and it would not work in the bathroom. I had to use it in the room which was just an annoyance. They provide bottle dispensers for shampoo, shower gel and conditioner. The body lotion by the sink released a watery substance - it looked separated so it probably hadn't been used or replaced in ages. There are so many light switches in the room that it's borderline ridiculous trying to sort them out. Maybe our experience isn't the norm as I see a lot of 5 star reviews here and I can appreciate that sometimes you just get unlucky. But while our stay met basic needs, I'd probably try elsewhere next time. I didn't really feel connected or drawn back in any way, and the room experience didn't meet the standards I'd expect from a hotel at this price point.

I booked 3 night stay in this hotel while on a trip to northern Italy. I had to cancel due to ill health and being unable to travel from Pisa that day. I called to explain at 9am the morning of my arrival. Check-in is 3pm. I was informed I’d booked a non-refundable room, which I hadn’t even realised when reserving in my phone. There was no understanding shown or customer service. I would have understood if charged for the 1st night but to charge for all 3 nights was nothing short of robbery, as they no doubt sold that room again for the following nights. I had used the NH hotel in Pisa and Sienna too. But I will never stay at this hotel chain again, nor will I recommend them to anyone.

The special promotional product which you have booked contains a strict non-refundable prepayment policy which allows no refund in case of cancellation.
