We went to Castropignano because it was the birthplace of my husband's grandparents. The hotel was huge with probably 200 rooms. However, when we visited which was mid-week in July there were only about 12 people staying in the hotel. It felt like being in the movie The Shining with Jack Nicholson. Several trips to Italy, but my first to Castropignano, the birthplace of my mother. This coincided with the 50th wedding anniversary party of my relatives,( whom I had never met before).
