The hotel is rapidly going down. We had been there before and had enjoyed our stay. The new management seems to add little to the hotel. The pool in the wellness centre was very cold. We found the rooms run down. The breakfast was memorable for its empty plates. We went down at 8:30 and the scrambled eggs were finished and so was the ricotta cheese. Most people had left half eaten croissants. We did ask about the food but the response was rather vague. The restaurant was terrible. The service was excellent but the food was really bad. I am sorry to say we will not return.

I found the location very strange and wonder how such a large hotel in this location can survive. The positives: staff were friendly and accommodating. Parking is free but the entrance to the hotel is not clearly marked from there. The breakfast was plentiful. The restaurant was not busy but the food was good and the menu doesn’t vary much. The negatives: rooms are nearly as attractive as a college dorm. They restrict the number of espresso drinks with breakfast to one. There was no fresh fruit. Pool is available only to spa guests. You would best drive to the old city and pay for parking. Walking directions are confusing. You will get a big laugh from the translated notices and signs including the spa’s “emotional shower”. I hope they didn’t pay for someone to provide these translations!

We stayed a few days for New Year. Obviously not the most representative period in a year. Mmh. The hotel was full, the staff friendly but clearly overwhelmed and trying to cope with clearly too many clients for the capacity of the hotel. I’ll keep it short. It certainly is a bit overrated (4 stars, really?) but I liked the XXL bed, the large room and all was very clean and the area quiet. I would not come back because it did not work for me... but others may like it.

The location is convenient, the view quite good but the hotel is not as great as described. We had a "suite" that was clean but modestly furnished. The king-size bed was made out of two twin mattresses that created a deep and very uncomfortable gap. The highly rated breakfast was average in mix and quality. In short, an average place that was sadly below our expectations.

Mamiani Hotel on the hill is about 15min from the center of Urbino by car. It has almost 90 rooms and good Spa. I enjoyed the good view around the hotel in the morning and evening.  My room was clean and comfortable with a bath tab and wide window.  The breakfast buffet was good. This hotel has many tourists from all over the world, so almost all receptionists ( 24 hours ) can understand English.  I could sleep enough, so I enjoyed walking in the center of Urbino, Unesco World Heritage and visiting the “Casa Natale di Raffaello Sanzio”, the house of Raffaello, the famous Renaissance artist  and  “Palazzo Ducale” where the famous Italian Poet Torquato Tasso accommodated in the past and another sightseeing spots. For another days, from the hotel, I enjoyed visiting Sant’ Angelo in Vado to join “the 55th Edition White Truffle National Fair” and Acqualagna to join “ 53th White Truffle National Fair”. From October until February, we can enjoy good Italian dishes with truffle, particularly with white truffle.  We visited a lot of nice places with blue sky and sunshine. Wonderful staying at Mamiani hotel in Urbino.  I would like to recommend couples or families or single to stay at Mamiani hotel, very safety and wonderful staying.
