We stayed here one night,we loved it. Marco was great..We had the room with the loft..it was very cute..He had breakfast for us alittle earlier since we wanted to leave early, had a long drive..What a breakfast!! One of the best I've had & I do travel a lot.. He had meats, cheese, fruit, yogert, tomatoes / toast, soft boil egg, even tiramisu!!Of course cappuccino... It was a delight, with the pandemic it hasn't been easy to travel & many places have skimped on breakfast ,but not here..If I'm in the area again would definitely stay here again..Ciao
Honestly I chose il Catillo blindly as during my holidays in Rome I‘ve suddenly decided to spend two nights in this lovely town… and it’s not very easy to find something well located in the middle of the ferragosto week. But luckily they had a room available. So that’s how I found this treasure right in the historical center of Tivoli, at a short walking distance from Villa Gregoriana and Villa d’Este. The room I stayed in was nice and spotless clean; the staff and host - very friendly, welcoming and polite like all the Tiburtini. Plus, right next to il Catillo there’s a small Italian restaurant with very good food. Looking forward for my next visit!
Beautiful renovated property! Conveniently located, walking distance to many restaurants and attractions. Parking is a bit challenging. Rooms are spacious and clean! Nice breakfast and great customer service!
In recent years there has been a proliferation of b&bs in Tivoli and when I decided to choose one of them I did not really know what to expect. I shouldn’t have worried. Not only the people there were kind and made me feel welcome but the place inside is really stylish and spotless clean. It’s right in the center, close to the many restaurants in the area, and a short walk to/from the station. I would recommended it to whoever decides to go for a break in the outskirts of Rome.
We had a tremendous stay at Catillo- far surpassed our expectations - large rooms with my Mother in a interconnecting room off our own private entry. Bathroom roomie. Staff were exceptional - pleasant and courteous at all times, with fabulous local knowledge for sights, non touristy cafes and shopping. Location near the heart of the old area and an easy walk to Villa d’este and Villa Gregoriana plus all the restaurants and shops. Marco went with my husband to show him where to park the car which was tremendous and reduced the stress of driving in Tivoli! Great stay - thank you Marco, Silvia and Phillipo
On our second visit to this property, we liked it even better than the first time— a great location and a wonderful old property beautifully restored. Everything is done with great taste, the hosts are friendly and eager to help with any questions, and the rooms are well air-conditioned with ceiling fans that keep them comfortable even in the hot Roman summer. Parking for the hotel is easy to access, which is important in Tivoli, and it’s just a short walk to either Villa D’Este or Villa Gregoriana or the central piazzas. The street outside is quiet but full of local sprezzatura character of Tivoli.
We were visiting Tivoli for a wedding, and were lucky enough that the wedding party had selected Catillo as a good place for their guests to stay. The B&B was just a short walk from the inexpensive parking lot at Piazza Massimo, The room was spacious, extremely clean, and decently appointed. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. On arrival we were provided with a map and lots of info from the owner regarding places to visit in town. The breakfast (small extra charge) was also a bargain and very nicely served. The B&B is just a short walk from the main shopping street in town, and is close to several of the main attractions in town. Tivoli itself is just a short drive from Rome and is a beautiful little city to see with a lot of history going back to Roman settlements in the area. This is simply a great place to stay.…
We cannot recommend this small family run hotel more highly. A former convent, the building has been tastefully converted into a small hotel. Our room was very commodious with a notably large bathroom with balcony off - AC available. A delicious breakfast was taken in a warmly decorated basement room with attentive service. The hotel is supervised by members of the same family and this is evident in the attention to detail and friendly interaction with guests. One word of warning: pay close attention to the travel directions the staff kindly supply to guests by email; it is not possible to locate the property using Satnav.
The staff is exceptionally friendly and gives you good tips on restaurants and places to visit. The rooms are nice and comfortable. Breakfast is good and well taken care off. An address to remember. Parking is nearby and free
Beautiful accommodations, which we would have expected to pay 3x as much for. Easy parking, once the owner advised on where to park. Phenomenal location. Stayed one night on our way from Puglia to Rome. Great walking tour recommendation from the owner. Overall, we were very pleasantly surprised with our stay. We weren’t expecting much, based on the price. So nice when that happens!!
