One of Rome's most exquisite palazzos opens its doors to begin a new chapter in its regal history as the Palazzo Dama: a magnificent destination hotel that redefines luxury in the Eternal City, welcoming guests to experience Rome in a majestic, full-service villa. The legacy of Palazzo Dama is steeped in the history of the Malaspina family, one of the oldest noble families in Europe and the palazzo's inhabitants for over a century. Constructed near the banks of the Tiber river, the Roman villa was both the Malaspina home and host to high society gatherings where the family entertained diplomats, aristocrats and prominent cultural and social figures. Palazzo Dama is named to honor the dignified elegance of the aristocratic woman - the dama in Italian - among the Malaspina generations. Today, Palazzo Dama retains its eminent historical beauty, but has been transformed into a luxurious destination that is not just a place to stay but a place to escape, complete with a private club and bar, as well as an outdoor pool that are set to become Rome's new hotspots for a discerning, international clientele. Steps from Piazza del Popolo, the hotel offers the unique experience of a grand villa situated at the very heart of Rome, where guests can choose from any number of events and experiences in Italy's capital city. Designed by architect Antonio Girardi, who oversaw the entire renovation, 29 rooms and suites have been conceived as light-filled sojourns where guests can enjoy their Roman stays in the comfort of exquisitely appointed spaces. An elegant pool invites visitors to relax in the lush, secluded garden surrounded by olive and lemon trees. On the rooftop, a private terrace offers the chance to delight in an evening aperitivo, accompanied by spectacular views that sweeps from the Tiber to the Vatican, across the breathtaking cityscape of Rome's cupolas and terracotta rooftops. Inside the hotel, the PACIFICO ROMA Restaurant has opened on March 2017 offres a nikkei peruvian cuisine managed by the Chef Jaime Pesaque.

    BEST, Perfect Stay!
I stayed here from the end of December to the first of January and my stay was perfect in every way. This hotel is aesthetically beautiful from the lobby, restaurant and the room and the service was amazing. Location is in the center of everything but in the perfect spot so that you are not in the middle of too much traffic. There is one of the most beautiful piazzas a 3 minute walk from the hotel (piazza del popolo) and everything else is walking distance, we walked the entire city and saw all the main attractions by foot. The longest walk may be the Colosseum approx 30-40 min. There is also a very classy nightclub in the basement of the hotel which we enjoyed 2 nights, they are open Friday and Saturdays. Overall great stay and cannot wait to be back. Special thanks to all the front desk personnel specifically Mauro, Valeria and Andrea:) who helped out with translating and getting my day trips and last minute dinners reserved in the best prompt manner.

Loved our stay at this boutique hotel
Beautiful hotel in a great location with a gorgeous swimming pool and terrace. It was too cold to use the pool but the setting was just beautiful, a peaceful atmosphere in the middle of the city. The restaurant where breakfast was served is small and charming. I liked that the breakfast was catered to your table, not some buffet. There was plenty offered - basket of bread, fruit plate, yogurt, and eggs any style you like. There was a bigger menu to choose from on Sunday. Our room was spacious (we had the junior suite) but I did miss more storage space for clothes. The bathroom was nice except that the bathtub and shower were combined and it was a very high step into the bathtub. If you are short, beware it's not easy to climb out with wet feet onto a marble floor. We loved that they had bikes to use (first 3 hours free). It was a great stay, we would return!

    One of the best!
One of my best experiences in Rome at the Palazzo Dama hotel. I can’t say enough about this charming hotel and their amazing staff! Let me start off by talking about a few people who made our stay even more memorable. Luigi in the front was very attentive and helpful from giving us suggestions and booking us all of restaurants and helping us get tickets to the Colosseum. Luigi helped us even before we arrived at the hotel via email and made all of our bookings. When Luigi was not there, Zena, Alfredo, and Vincent were equally helpful and pleasant to deal with. Marina, our server at breakfast was super nice and would go out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. She even remembered what we ate the day before to make sure we didn’t forget anything. The pool was amazing and much necessary since it was so hot. At night, the bar by the pool was amazing as well. They had great drinks and a wonderful vibe. Thank you to all at Palazzo Dama who made our stay even more memorable!

We read a review about the food which inspired us to try this expensive hotel restaurant. They didn’t have half of the menu available (the fusion courses) which was why we went, so we ended up with a salad and pasta. Not sure if it was because we went for lunch, but the plates were too small for us to be satisfied and full.

While the location is central, this means the pool area (small but still refreshing) is very noisy - you need to wear noise cancelling headphones to chill there. Room was small but nice; bathroom could have been a tad cleaner. Needed to ask for additional pillows as ones provided were minimal after usage. Overall impression is the place is no longer "new" and quality may be dropping. Breakfast buffet is extremely carb heavy (egg and fruit is only special order); dinner restaurant is good. There is no parking, but the have valet service. Staff was friendly. Location is very very good.

This hotel is well situated and a lovely restoration of a property. We were there on a Sunday - Thursday during the spring so we had a quiet and tranquil experience. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was great. I do understand that on weekends there is a dance club downstairs which would have been a problem for us - but we missed this experience!

We paid €750 for one night - the hotel suite and hotel in general was shabby and smelly. Our suite seemed unclean. Coffee machine was broken with stagnant dirty water left on it. Coffee cup missing too. Staff were very kind - although our welcome drink was never offered as mentioned in our booking. Will not return.

We booked two nights at this hotel. On the second day the hotel was taken over by a stylist company who for the full day proceeded to transform this glorious space into now what we know to be possibly be an all night party. During this time we had no access to the pool area, bar or communal areas of the hotel, you were frowned at for even being in the space. I cannot describe in words the feeling of knowing the time is now midnight and tomorrow morning we have to catch a 23 hour flight home to Australia with no sleep, the sound of thumping music constantly radiating through the walls is so terrible. We were not told that this was going to be the case, I wish we had have read reviews, because it seems this is a regular occurrence. Definitely not what you expected when you book a 5 star hotel. Very sad , tired and disappointed guests.

The Palazzo Dama was one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at. Yes it's beautiful and in a great location, but even more than that, the staff went way out of their way to help us. My daughter had a pretty bad earache upon landing from JFK. I called the hotel from baggage claim and they arranged to have a doctor meet us, in our room, within two hours of my call. It was incredible. The breakfast was lovely. Every morning I was greeted to a gorgeous buffet of Italian breads and freshly squeezed orange juice. Everybody was so gracious and friendly. On our last day, I bought a pair of shoes that I wanted to return, but didn't have time. The staff actually helped me make the return. It's just another example of how they went out of their way to make our stay memorable. I highly recommend this hotel. The location is great, just a couple of blocks away from a beautiful square and from there, a short walk to all of the best shopping. The rooms have gorgeous high ceilings and the beds and pillows are super comfortable. We will definitely be back!

One of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. Hotel did not meet with our previously stated requirements, very unwelcoming staff, and such a bad serviced hotel. Out of all the hotels we’ve stayed in in Italy this was the most expensive with the worst experience. The air conditioning system was out of order for the most of our stay, and hotel’s restaurant has only cold appetizers as dinner. In conclusion, I would never stay here again nor would I recommend to anyone.
