Put the house music on replay and you have Testaccio, an ancient Roman port and former working class neighborhood where the bass is set to high almost every night of the week. Its collection of discoteche (nightclubs), street parties, and crowded restaurants give it its well-deserved party reputation. During the daytime, Testaccio is more easy listening than club hit, the area is full of locally owned small businesses and has one of the city's larger produce markets.

Great wee place, right in the lovely area of Testaccio. Clean as a whistle and with little chandeliers even in the bathroom, which in room B has a jacuzzi bath! There’s no lift and it’s on the first floor so not accessible if there’s mobility issues. Breakfast 8.30-9.30 and not a minute longer. Checkout is a bit early at 10.30.

A small B & B outside of city centre, about 20 mins walk. Clean rooms with all facilities. Breakfast just consisted of usual continental style food. Coffee and tea could be made in the dining room any time of day. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only problem was it was upstairs and hot water for tea needed to be heated in a microwave.

This place is 20 minutes walk to colosseum & approx 1 hour walk to Vatican City, Save your feet & take the bus direct from the bottom of the street. There are also some nice restaurant's right next door. Liana was there to meet us, she was super friendly and very helpful with tips/advice. She also booked our transfers with no problems. Giorgia who was there to arrange breakfast and changed towels is also a very nice & friendly lady. There is a coffee machine & Microwave to use whenever you like. Also a hair dryer, iron and fridge in your room. You are given the keys and made to feel at home. I would highly recommend Testaccio Village Guesthouse and would not hesitate to return. Thanks Liana & Giorgia
