The hotel is a budget hotel. It is clean and quiet, and you get what is expected. The bathrooms are shared. There is no breakfast available. Towels and linen are provided. The owners were extremely accommodating by keeping my bags after the check out. The hotel is very near to the train station, and from there it is easy to...

This is a small guest house, suitable for a cheap stay in Rome if you're not particularly looking for an italian-feel stay and just want a decent place to sleep. The room was clean, as well as the toilet. During the day, the room is cleaned when you leave. The line A metro station is right outside the building, and...

It is not far from the important spots in Rome, it's close to tranposrts, the room was nice clean and the reception was okay. One major negative thing: The neighborhood is not nice at all. It is frequented by drunk homeless people, and the park next to it does not seem safe especially at night.

I just got home from my budget trip to Rome, and I have to say this place was way better than I thought it would be after all the bad reviews I read here! Based on my previous experience with cheaper hotels in Rome, I'd say this is an average(or a little better than the average!) B&B. As everyone who...

Good standard for low price. The room including bathroom was clean and in a surprisingly good standard. It was a very poor breakfast indeed without fresh bread.

We booked this thru a travel agent. We get to the train station and as we are walking to the hotel, we are immediately discoraged by the neighborhood. You would not know you were in Rome. Everyone was Chinese, Indian and black, which is great....just not what you'd expect in rome for an Italian experience. We get to the grafiti...

We were looking for a budget place to stay in, but had we seen the place in actual, we'd definitely pay more to stay elsewhere. Place is near Termini and the subway, which is good. Neighborhood tends to be scary at night, maybe just because of the overall look and upkeep of the building and its surroundings. Community is Chinese...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
