I rarely review hotels but since I’m doing this, I’ll ensure it’s detail so you can really choose if this hotel suits you. Reading is fundamental. So it might be wordy but let’s fast it, any 3 line review isn’t a good one anyways. Here goes: This hotel is a city base hotel. If you’ve ever been to Manhattan, you’ll get this. Space in city hotels are a premium. Thus, the rooms are on the smaller side but they are functional and workable. Coming into the hotel, you are met with about 8-10 stairs. However, there is a stair lift that an older/less agile person can use to get up to the front desk. Your bags can’t fit on the lift though. The hotels have 3 floors only. We stayed on each of the floors, as we had 3 rooms. None of our rooms had a view that’s worthwhile discussing. We were all looking into buildings. Privacy isn’t an issue as your blinds are sufficient. We stayed in rooms 302, 205 and 104. 302 was only suited for 1 person. 2 people would really have to struggle to navigate the room, especially if you add normal size bags. Room 205 was spacious. Our bags fitted comfortably and everything. So was the other room. The bathrooms don’t have much counter space to rest anything. The shower is tight with only a rainfall head. I am not sure if they have handicap rooms either. The beds are comfortable enough. The nightstands are sufficient as well. This hotel is a chic look. So they are shooting for a hip type of look and I must say it works. As for convenience, have no fear. They are 5 minutes walk to the Vatican City and all around the hotel there is restaurants and all kinds of shopping. Oh the street behind this hotel, have all the brand name stores you can think of. If you don’t have a big budget, have no fear there’s also lower end stores that you can enjoy shopping at as well. I personally will be looking to book this hotel the next time I visit here for sure. Above all the place is clean and staff is very friendly and helpful. When we visited the restaurant was close for repairs so the restaurant wasn’t open. Hope this review helps you.

We had a very large corner room with 2 beds, highly recommend the restaurant next door which provides the breakfast for the hotel, bustling with locals. The area is great, walking distance to the Vatican side entrance, we managed to see the pope give the Angelus leaving the hotel only 20mins before it started!

We were upgraded to a Junior Suite on arrival which we were very happy about. The room was lovely, clean, we had loads of space (and a random bath in the room lol). The location of this hotel was amazing for us, it was so close to shops, restaurants and 10 minutes from the Vatican. It is walkable to all the sights we wanted to see with the Colosseum being the furthest away (it took us around an hour but my phone was playing up with the directions). This hotel is also near bus stops, a metro stop and a tram stop. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. 2 minor issues: 1 - the 'double' bed was two singles that liked to move apart 2 - we weren't told that the rooftop restaurant was closed for a private function on the Friday night are were embarrassed to be told we had to leave and as that was our last night we didn't get to see the view or have any food or drinks there. I will return to this hotel when I come back to Rome.

Receptionists were friendly. Only thing nice about this hotel was the location. Dark & dingy describes room 104. No electrical outlets in bathroom. Inadequate lighting for the room. Fabric covered walls are dirty and stained, mattress pad stained, a/c inadequate, shower water was hot for 5 minutes. It was raining very hard and to use one of the hotel’s umbrellas you had to leave a 15 euro deposit. If you returned umbrella in same condition, they’d refund your money. Toilet is TOO close to the sink. Breakfast was just OK.

Okay I'm going to cut straight to the chase. Once we checked in we were given our key and then we made way to our room, this is where things got bad (check photos) at first appearance the room was OK at best, but most definitely not what they advertise they must only show their special suites and not a normal room. After opening the cases I decided I wanted a quick shower until I seen the state of it, never in my life have I seen such a dirty and disgusting shower head it was coated in what could only look like mould and limescale, the bathroom looked like it was never cleaned... Ever! I instantly called the receptionist (short hair with glasses, no name badge so no idea who she was) who said she would send the cleaners back in I told her I was really not happy about the fact we can't even get on with our holiday as we have to wait for the room to be cleaned. The cleaners come and they say its clean and that the only thing that can be done about it is changing the shower head in which they couldn't do cos the maintenance man had gone, at this moment I wet my finger and rub it on the mould or what ever it was to show the cleaner it will come off but they are both still stood saying maintenance man, ring reception again and the lady tells me the cleaners say it's clean and they don't need to be in there and it needs to be done by the maintenance guy who noone seems to know where he is, by this time I'm really annoyed and I took pictures to physically show the receptionist as she didn't belive that it was dirty and she wouldn't come up to look with her own eyes she then tried to fob it off on the hotel owners and sai they don't give us the correct facilities to make things like is not happen which I did not understand cos its the cleaners duty to make sure a room is clean. before I walk out and head down to reception a different lady shows up at the door and asks what the issue is, I show her how filthy it is and explain how disgusting it is and even showed her how it needs to be cleaned, after this she then offers for us to shower in a different place which was on the roof who on earth wants to shower on a roof top to then come down and get changed (getting really angry now). I told them we were going out for a walk and I wanted the bathroom clean when we got back or our room changing. Just before we leave we now have one manager two cleaners and now some guy who is supposed to be maintenance or so we guessed, so go down and the same receptionist giggles and says is everything sorted now and the says the cleaners say it's clean so all should be good I show her the pictures and she said ohh I'm really sorry and that's it she walked off laughing and smiling and honestly she didn't care at all. Once we come back I check again to see it had only been wiped clean and that was it, upon inspecting the room we came across so much filth (check pictures) There's a rusty filthy trough on the window with a dirty bottle opener strapped to it no idea what this is for. They don't have no propper ironing facilities it's a random board strapped to a wall in a basement next to some fosty mattresses and they have the cheek to charge you for this. The mini bar in the room is never cleaned or checked, after our first day round Rome we thought grab a drink from the bar and chill in bed only to discover the bottle of prosecco had already been opened and what ever liquid was inside was flat and most probably not even prosecco, they did swap it but it was a warm bottle and not even the same brand no apologies just laughed at again (we found the same bottle in the shop round the corner for €1.50 they charge €9.50). I then checked the fridge to see how disgusting it was.. Fair to say we didn't use it again and it's just aswell as it was not refilled and when I asked why I was told ohh if you want something let the reception know. This would be a 1 star review but the two gents from the rooftop bar were great honstly they were the best part about this place seriously they should be running the place as they know how to speak to people they were really nice, friendly and very professional and even though the roof was booked for a party they allowed us to have a drink before heading to bed. The receptionist with the tattoos was also really good and helpful unlike the one with short hair and glasses. Advise to anyone considering staying here.. DON'T DO IT, might cost a bit more but book elsewhere and don't subject yourself to this kind of treatment. Over all I would highly recommend sleeping on the street rather than this place as its probably cleaner, the lady who checked us in was very rude and obnoxious and clearly must always be right.
