We stayed in room 7. The room was clean and large. Bathroom was a good size also. The ceiling had a nice painting on it which was a bonus. Breakfast was really good and is delivered to your room. Staff were friendly. We walked to all major sites from the hotel so it is located in a good position. Short... More

We were in Rome for about a week and this hotel was perfect! Apart from the 5 minutes spent trying to find it (it's in a apartment building where you need to buzz in) It's fantastic. The staff is helpful and nice. We were given a room when we first checked in but the next day we were moved to... More

This hotel is located in the lovely Monti neighborhood, inside a residential building. The staff at the reception is friendly, the rooms are basic but clean. The coliseum is only 10 minutes walking distance and around the hotel there are some small shops to buy water, etc. Breakfast croissant and cappuccino were good!

This hotel is nice enough for one or two nights. I did have several issues with the hotel however. First of all, it is incredibly hard to find if you don't know what you're looking for. There is no sign outside whatsoever. In the end we walked around the block a few times before going to the number on the... More

I chose this hotel because we were only staying one night in Rome and wanted to be by the train station. The hotel was very easy to get to and only 5-10 minutes walking from the Termini station. It was difficult to find the actual hotel though because there isn't a sign outside. Instead, just look for the hotel number... More

Great hotel with small but lovely rooms. Good breakfast in the room. Location is very good. Metro station just 5 minutes from the hotel. The Colosseum is near. Very helpful staff. I would recommend it.

My mother and I stayed in a twin room for 5 nights at the end of May. Here is our review: - friendly and helpful service. The 24 hour reception is great. For those who only speak English, the staff were good at communicating in English. (I wish I knew how to speak Italian!). - rooms were comfortable, while bathroom... More

My friend and I were traveling to Rome and due to a flight delay, we arrived about three hours later than expected. The door was very hard to locate the first time because there is no sign with the hotel name on it. However, I believe its the only huge wooden doors on the street. We were buzzed in and... More

I highly recommend the hotel. Good location (less than 10 minutes walking from the Colosseum, 1 block from the subway station), nice neighborhood, comfortable and tidy. Good service, great stuff (especially Aurora), delicious breakfast. If you're looking for a fare rate and good hotel, believe me... Go for Auditorium di Mecenate Rome...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
