We had a beautiful few days in Rome and this hotel was most definitely a highlight. The staff were lovely. Upon arrival a gentlemen at reception showed us a map and circled all of the places to visit. He shared his recommendations for local restaurants and ways to travel. The breakfast was enough to keep you going until lunchtime and the service was prompt and polite.
The location is perfect. It is central enough to travel everywhere you would like to go, including being within walking distance of the Colosseum, but not too central that you feel you cannot move (which is definitely the case in the town centre).

Thank you!

Our room was nice and clean. The hotel is very well located as most of the destinations are within walking distance. The staff is very helpful (given that there is somebody present). Three things that - in our opinion- they could to better:

1. Unfortunately, our room was never cleaned by the staff. The staff told us that they could not do it because of COVID restrictions. However, other hotels in Rom are cleaning the guest’s room anyway.

2. According to the homepage, the staff is available 24/7. However, we needed help/information about three times and there was nobody at the reception. There was no telephone (or iPad) in our room so we were not able to get in contact with them.

3. The hotel provides a laundry service. This was very helpful and it worked perfectly. However, the prices are extremely high.

In conclusion, we can recommend to stay at this hotel. However, we hope they improve things for the next time.

Hotel is a ten minute walk from the colosseum, not a bad location but I imagine there are better. The hotel is situated a 5 minute walk from the metro station which is handy.
Similarly to the previous review regarding the bathtub, seemed odd as didn’t seem to be one when we arrived.
Hotel is very overpriced for drinks.
Breakfast is included but is only a pot of tea and a crossiant you are asked to tick which items you want ie butter/Nutella however we ticked this on the first night and the items were not included with the breakfast. Staff were helpful and friendly and provided good advice on where to visit etc
Quirks included using an iPad to turn the lights on and off. Bathroom very big, modern room on a whole.

We have just returned from a three night trip to Rome staying at The Corner Townhouse. The hotel is in a perfect place for exploring Rome and all its glory, mostly by foot. The staff are amazing, offering suggestions of places to visit, eat drink, where to avoid, depending on your own likes and dislikes. Mauro is a great host with excellent English ( as have they all ). Everywhere is clean, the bed was so comfortable and made a great nights sleep inevitable after a long day exploring. There is a restaurant and cocktail bar attached but run by a different management team, so the bills are separate to the room. It does need a little t&c in some areas but for us the friendliness of the staff together with its location and comfort far outweighed anything else. We Cant wait to go back next year and go to the places we didn’t manage this time!

NOT WHAT YOU THINK!
Me and my husband stopped here for out honeymoon Christmas last year.over priced rubbish! Paid €70 extra for prosecco and fruit on arrival for the fruit not to be taken away during out stay so we had to go buy bin bags and remove it our selves.on check out we paid an extra €205 for room tax and the prosecco?? Then asking the guy on reception to call us a taxi to the airport did exactly that but to the wrong airport(after showing him the flight details) resulting in us paying €60 to wrong airport then another €90 to the correct one! Not at all 5*

Thank you for your stay at The Corner Townhouse. We really appreciate your feedback, it is very important for us. We regret that you had to pay a higher price for airport transfer but that does not depend on us, the hotel and the taxis/private cars that bring our guests to the airport work in collaboration with us but are different society so we can not answer for them. We hope to welcome you back again in the future, we will do our best for give you a pleasant stay.

Booked this on JETSETTER with high hopes, only to have them dashed by our entrance to old/unkept/not-so-clean grounds (dirty tiles on stairs, old patio furnishings, small cramped and unkept lobby). The room was interesting and had character and the hallways were well kept. The room bathroom was large, marble, and had the biggest bathtub (pool?) I've ever seen (couldn't get the jets to work). BUT...the place is old so that sewer smell permeates. I get it, but still don't like it. Both men at the front desk had really bad breath AND the clincher--when we checked out and I asked to use the bathroom/WC before departing, I was told, "We don't have one." WHAT! What hotel lobby doesn't have a bathroom?

Our shopping bag was stolen from our room. We were silly enough to have the receipt from the clothes still in the shopping bag so I assume it must have been easy money for whoever from the hotel who took it.

Upon complaining my partner and I have failed to get our money back, and the e-mail correspondance has been futile. The theft happened two months ago and it's just such an unpleasant experience to know that the staff are going through your private belongings when you are out enjoying Rome.

Be very careful with this hotel.

Disappointed to write this review but feel that other prospective guests of the hotel ought to be made aware:

All in all, our whole party have been saddened by how much these issues impacted our stay -

-Room 203:
-The bathroom door would not shut for the duration of the stay - the lock was broken, the door slid open and so there was no privacy in the bathroom. This was reported and not dealt with. I asked for gaffer tape to secure it -
-There is a dirty box / container in the cupboard, pictures of this are attached.
-The shelf is broken next to the bed and we repeatedly had glasses of water slide off onto the floor
-The iPad battery died on Saturday night. We could not turn the lights next to the bed out because the battery had gone. We took the iPad to the front desk at 11.30pm and the member of staff told me I would have to wait 25 mins for it to charge - I said we could not wait as we wanted to go to bed. He gave me a charger so that we could wait for it to charge and then turn off the lights. Before this, he told me that if I did not want to come back in 25 mins for he iPad i would have to come back for it in my pyjamas in the morning -

-Balcony suite
-Website indicates there is a Nespresso machine. We repeatedly requested capsules for it over our stay and none were provided.
-The toilet seat in the bathroom of the suite needs fixing, it sways from side to side.

-General notes:
-I have never felt so disrespected and poorly treated in a hotel
-These complaints have been put to the hotel, we were told compensation may be offered initially but this was never mentioned ever again. They seem to want to offer us a night at their hotel - it has been explained to them that it would cost us hundreds of pounds to fly to Rome and have a free night in their hotel and they have now stopped replying to emails

Avoid this place!!! Total SCAM. We booked this place that is out of the way for the only reason that the suite had an outdoor bathtub. The hotel’s site, Expedia and hotel.com had images of the bathtub and listed it as a facility. When we got there we were told hadn’t been working for months!!! The Management is absolutely USELESS, rude, condescending and with no solutions. We saved for months for this trip and there was zero compassion. We felt totally scammed!

Our last stop of our Italian trip so we upgraded our room to have the extra comfort before flying home, worth every cent.
A modern, fashion styled room with a massive bathroom/dressing room area (A huge luxury after the previous places). A fully automated room which does take a few clicks to work out.
The position of the place is quite a bit out of the historical, touristy area but is positioned literally on top of one of the best sushi places I've ever eaten at (Yes sushi in Italy. Shock. After 13 days of pasta and pizza it was fanatstic).
Overall, great place if you looking for affordability and comfort away from the rip off of central tourist areas. Only 2km away from the Colliseum.
