Very basic room, no tea making facilities. No hairdryer. Very little toiletries supplied. Some rooms have a balcony, we had one...with extremely loud neighbours! Right under the flight path, and the metro runs directly underneath, so not the quietist. It's very very basic for the price, the only plus side was it was so close to the metro. I feel... More

Okay so it was in the flight path but I guess you're not in Rome to stay in bed past 7.00am right? Breakfast is quite basic but if meat and cheese are your thing in the morning you'll be okay. I settled on cereal but there are pastries. The coffee machine takes a bit of mastering. The swimming pool is... More

We stayed here as a family of four for 1 night before leaving Italy. It's a good location between the airport and central Rome and has a small pool. However I would have struggled to stay more than one night with us all squashed in such a small space and there wasn't a communal living space we could relax in.... More

Ok. So you need to understand that you are paying under $70 per night. This isnt a 5 star hotel. But its cheap and only a 15 minute ride on the metro to downtown. The area its in is kinda shady. Oleg did an amazing job at this hotel keeping everyone happy. He literally does 5 jobs all by himself... More

The hotel was modern, clean and good for the money. Close to 2 metro but out of the main hustle. The receptionists were all more than helpful but when we came to pay on the final night the lad on the desk tried adding an extra €40 on our bill. Cheeky little s**t. There wasn't a safe in the room... More

travelling to Roma for our honeymoon in August we decided a pool would be great as it was so hot. Unfortunately the hotel we stayed in did not have one so we looked into going to a hotel pool for a day, this transpired to be an expensive option so we opted to make a booking at The Strand for... A bit far out, but right next to subway which makes it easy, pool is very dirty, rooms and hotel are very clean and well maintained. Only issue was that over our 5 nights there the air conditioner stopped working about 10 times and as result had to go down to reception to get it reset

i can not say almost anything about the hotel itself since i was there 1 night only but the service was pretty strange: i tried to ask reception guy to call a taxi in advance for tomorrows morning, but he said that you can call anytime and it will be in 5 minutes. The result: i woke up in the... More

Admittedly I have high hotel standards and do not normally stay anywhere with less than a four star rating but when price and high travel time call for it I can lower my standards as is the case here. I figured that as long as I had warm water for shower and accessible internet I could bear the other inconveniences.... More
