#75 of 2,114 Specialty lodging in Rome
At the end it all depends on what we really want. Things, gestures and feelings don't mean anything on their own. Luxury for example. Luxury, for us, is doing what we love doing. Luxury, they say, lies in what you can't pay for, because "there is only one real luxury, and that lies in human relations". (Antoine de Saint Exupery) So we have taken a 17th century residential building by Fontana di Trevi and we have converted it into six apartments to allow ourselves the luxury of doing what we love best, and to present you with the luxury of finding in Rome what wasn't there before: a living room surrounded by everything you might need to help you discover the hidden identity of this great city, or get to know it better. We are all perfectly aware that the best way to travel is to stay in a friend's place: one goes back home with a piece of the place we've been, with the feeling, however brief, of having become part of the local scene. This is what we have in mind: to be able to assist you with discretion in getting to know the most intimate corners of the city, introduce you to the more radical local traditions and suggest unlikely places where you can discover real Rome. Whether you're here on holiday, on business, for a meeting, a party or a wedding. Whether you wish to rent an apartment or the entire CasaCau, this will be a home for you, where you can feel truly spoilt. No lift.

We had the apartment on the first floor, which was large on hotel standards. Kitchen area, bedroom and bathroom. It was basically not very comfortable - no proper comfortable chairs. Plus bed was an awkward design. It was all ‘clean enough’, but frankly the shower (no bath) needed better ventilation. Nice staff and decent breakfast offerings, but not sure we’d go back - despite reasonable value.

Amazing location, great service and v kid friendly. We will return! Separate kitchen and living room, huge bedroom. Enjoyed especially the fresh breakfast dropped outside the door and the pasta refreshes!

Clean quiet secure 1st floor apartment furnished with a modern flair. We used the kitchenette for breakfast and a small dinner for two using local pasta and canned tomatoes with fresh fruit provided by the host. Quality bathroom with sauna. Fresh breads hung on your door knob each morning. Even though there is no reception desk, the host Pamela met us at the apartment at 11am per plan and it was ready for us.She maintains an office in the building and is never more than a text away. We cancelled our hop on hop off bus booking. It was unnecessary. We walked to all the major sites: one minute walk to the Trevi fountain, 7 minutes to the Spanish steps and 25 minutes to the Vatican or Borghese Museum. We would stay at the Casacau again! PS The host and cleaning staff graciously refused our thank-you tip.

Room Tip: We had a small intimate balcony with an alley view, even so you could hear the city

What a fabulously quirky and seriously comfortable apartment in a very central location with the Trevi Fountain only a minutes walk away. I was in apartment 6 on the top floor and our every need was catered for. Pamela was extremely helpful and welcoming and was in hand to help with any questions we had. My trip was short and I want to return to Rome and I will definitely try to stay in Caracas as it would be hard for anywhere else to be of such a high standard.

We have just returned from a 3nights in Rome staying in Casacau it was perfectWe had no. 7 on the top floor and was welcomed by lovely Pamela who's office is inno. 3.The apartment is lovely quirky with a modern twist and ihad everything we needed. The kit was equipped.Bathroom was nice and modern the shower fab with plenty of hot water towels changed daily. Lounge area was big and the bedroom was also spacious 2 dbl beds and a ward with plenty of hangers. it was missing a mirror in the bedroom The air con was really good .The apartment was very clean Locashion fab less than a min from the Trevi Fount lots of restaurants gelato shops and shops and to say it was such a busy bustling area the apartment was very quiet no outside noise at all. We only took a taxi to the Vatican ( which Pamela booked for us and it picked us up outside the doors) We would love to come back to Rome and wouldn't hesitate to stay again at the lovely Casacau as we felt it gave us a real taste of being a local🍷
