Villa Silj is the kind of place that you can't miss of you really wanna taste the real Italy! The place has an amazing garden, full of histories and arts which make you feel in another time! We stayed there for one month during our vacation and we just loved to be so close to the main attractions in Rome,...

Thank you Carlos and Kristina, the conversations we had were wonderful. And of course you don't mention the most important part - the best part - of your experience here. The one that will accompany you all your life. But I will let you say what it was if you want. Ciao and please return !

I stayed for 3 months in Farina cottage, whilst working in Rome, back in 2000/2001, mainly alone, but also with wife and baby and another period with my parents...most recently stayed August 2016 for one week with wife, 4 children and 1 (large old dog) in the west wing....I rated it excellent - not because everything was excellent, but because...

I came to stay at the villa for one week whilst traveling to Italy, within days of arrival I had fallen in love with the property and the family and extended my stay to three weeks. The villa is approx 30 min from Roma Termini using public transport. Very easy to access by catching the train to Prima Porta and...

From the booking of the Villa to the completion of the stay, the visit and the service was amazing and extremely accommodating. Our group consisted of 28 people, 14 families, and the villa was large enough to accommodate our group very comfortably and provided us a memorable, quite, and comfortable stay. The Villa owners worked with us weeks prior to...

Rarely have we had such gracious guests. It was a pleasure to be with them and welcome them into our home, as friends.

We stayed for around 2 weeks. We loved it, and would recommend it very highly for certain types of travelers, especially families or people who are staying a while and are not in a hurry to see everything in Rome in 3 days. There's a lot going on here, so this will be a long review. I want to associate...

We stayed here end of September. It is a perfect place if you want to combine your visits to Rome with some leisure-time in the garden (nice little pool!) The accomodation had a country-like charm: no design, nothing fancy, but everything you'll need is there. Including fast wifi! If you have a car you can simply drive to a nearbij...

We were only 10km from Rome, so could commute very easily to see the attractions in the centre, then get back to this blissfully quiet place, where hardly any traffic sounds can be heard. It feels like the real countryside, yet unbelievable so close to a big metropolis. The garden is beautiful, and Bernard, it`s owner was happy to give...

One of the owners, Bernard, openly insulted all Americans in front of my American travel companion. There is a gate to the property which you need a key to get in and out of. They only gave us one key for my group of 7, which made solo/ pair trips very difficult. There was no AC so it was extremely...

I am sorry Katherine thought I insulted the Americans and our family is partly American, having settled in Texas in the 19th century. I have not consciously insulted anyone since my school days ! We shared some typically Irish repartee on the second evening (we both also share Irish roots as well) and maybe somehting I said was misunderstood. I...

There is one magical garden on the entry gate (Prima Porta) to Rome: the resplendent Silj estate, which offers a tranquil refuge from the city buzz and the usual post-card experience. When we arrived we were greeted by a male version of Dante’s Beatrice, a guide who beats all other guides. The host’s conception of an ideal holiday – and...
