I do not know who is writing this. They do not identify themselves nor say in which period they stayed. So how can we respond in an appropriate manner? I suspect this is an act of malice or it is written by people who came to stay in June and already gave us a "0" review. Two "0" reviews is that allowed? If these are the same people then I repeat that we had to report them to Booking.com for their rioutous and threatening behaviour and they ordered a welcome menu which was agreed in writing and then said they had ordered a deli menu but at the welcome menu price. This property works as a cultural institute developing a branch of cultural ecology through storytelling. Having tourists and weddings is a way of paying some of the costs. We are not in the business of ripping people off. I think that people making accusations like this should have to identify themselves to allow proprietors to respond. Otherwise it smacks of anonymous malice and reduces the credibility of Trip Advisor.

This client booked our villa through Booking.com for 21 guests but then tried to have a party for 60 guests. We had to tell them and Booking.com confirmed this, this was not allowed by the terms of the contract. I cannot help but feel that everything that followed was as an act of spite on the client’s part. I was in hospital during their stay leaving my wife (and sometimes the concierge) to look after the guests. From the moment of their arrival they barely greeted my wife. They had been offered the choice between a gourmet dinner (more expensive) and a welcome dinner (more simple and less expensive). I had been perfectly clear about this. They had chosen the less expensive dinner but after dinner was over and my wife was on her own, three of them went at her and told her she was a thief (because she had not provided the gourmet dinner at the welcome dinner price) and intimidated her into reimbursing part of the money. She kept the mobile phone on so that in hospital I could hear one woman howling like a wounded animal. They remained hostile throughout their stay and at night there was a lot of drunken howling and yelling so that neighbours called us and Booking.com had to warn them. We advise them by text message that the following evening we would have security because of our concerns about this party. But on the last evening without our security they began howling and shouting so that neighbours called us and we had to call them and report them to Booking.com again. After their stay the guests left rubbish everywhere even though there were precise instructions about recycling and separation in different bins. They wrote on the walls of the houses and left a lot of damage. In 15 years of activity we have never had customers, like these. We felt defiled. They did have some legitimate complaints though: Fans: we have lots of fans butt may not have put them in each room; if fans were missing why did they not ask for them – but sorry nonetheless. Regarding towels we have a cleaning company that supplies towels based on bookings (21 guests) one big towel and small towel for each person. 21 pairs were supplied. So I am asking: did any additional guests sleep at the villa after all (as per their original intention ? We also supplied pool towels. Mosquito nets have been removed because guests prefer generally lots of ventilation and use little electric mosquito boxes. Plates and crockery: there is enough overall but these may have been distributed wrongly amongst the houses so sorry. Chairs, more than enough. WI-FI yes, our provider has been unreliable recently but there was a connection most of the time. Pool: structure is made entirely out of wood and is checked and renovated each year, but something may have escaped our control. Sorry. But the pool is cleaned vigorously – it is not mold but a stain created on the water level.
