My cousin said every day "THAT was a great breakfast!" Sweet roll, cold meats, variety of cheese slices, wonderful fruit, yummy bread. The location was really great for bus #64, 46 & 571 although we only used 64. Very close to the Vatican. The staff were exceptionally helpful. The facilities were super clean. The elevator was pretty darned good. Overall,... More

I spent 11 days in Rome, 5 of them at Madri Pie. You can't beat the location for the price. It only took a few minutes to walk to St. Peter's Square. We were very pleased with the hospitality of the attendants at the front desk. Our rooms were impeccably clean, and it was wonderful to see the sisters walking... More

Stayed at the Madre Pie a year ago on our first pilgrimage to Rome, it is in a great location to the Vatican and near to all transport and eateries. The breakfasts are plentiful and the staff are very hospitable. The gardens are very tranquil and the view of ST Peters is excellent. We plan to go back next year so... More

In a great neighborhood and so close to the Vatican!very clean. Office staff not terribly friendly. Enjoy the gardens in back with your own food stuffs and beverages from deli across the street.no wifi but it is available down the street. Would benefit from offering free wifi in future.

We have stayed several times at the Residenza. The staff is welcoming and accommodating, the facility is well-appointed and the back garden is lovely. Above all, the location is outstanding. We could see the dome of St. Peter's from the window of our room, and all of the attractions of the Vatican are close at hand. Bus transportation is nearby... More

I first stayed here in 2004 andI have stayed here many times since - the latest being June 2013 for eight nights. I highly recommend it because of its location, price, cleanliness, and convenience to bus stops, taxi stand, restaurants, and, of course St. Peter's Basilica. You get a basic room (with good air conditioning) and a private bathroom. Unless... More

we stayed here for a total of nine nights in june on a class trip from a catholic university. madri pie is run by nuns and can be a little startling to see them everywhere if you are a southern baptist like me lol but every single one of the staff and desk clerks were so friendly and courteous and... The first strong point of this convent/hotel (it is really neither) is its location: St.Peter's square is less than 5 minutes walk away (see unretouched photo taken from our room's window); the bus stop to downtown Roma is 45 seconds walk from the hotel front door; a city bus hub with several lines to multiple destinations is 2 minutes away.... Well situated near the Vatican, friendly service by Peruvian nuns, basic but adequate breakfast, basic but adequate rooms (with separated beds, and bathroom with shower and bidet), information about city/neighbourhood available at reception desk. Luggage room available. Temperature in upper corridors were tropical in March, because " we have winter now, the heating is turned on, the air-conditioning does not... More

Our family of four had a lovely stay at the Residenza Madri Pie. After arriving from Spain, we took the city bus as close as we could and pulled our suitcases through the city streets to find the residence. Along the way we ended up walking up the street to St. Peter's at dusk. The crowds were gone, and it... More
