Pro: 1. Good price. I paid $120+tax 2. Free breakfast. (just basic bread+coffee/juice) 3. Quiet and safe location 4. Room is clean and the size is acceptable. Con: 1. 15 minutes uphill walk from Metro. Take 52 53 63 bus instead. 2. Internet is slow. It costs 5 euro /hr or 10 euro/3hr 3. Strict check in check out policy.... More

My husband and I went to Rome on a long weekend. It took me awhile to figure out which hotel to get and where to stay. I wanted somewhere close to everything and a place that would make it easy to walk around. This hotel was great! The service was exceptional-breakfast was typical European, and the rooms were clean. If... More

Ok, To keep this as brief as possible, my partner and I booked the Hotel Romanico for our anniversary and were looking forward to 4days in Rome. Upon booking the hotel we thought we had secured a great stay, our package included airport transfers, breakfasts and coliseum tickets (the coliseum tickets were a big draw card as we wanted to... Booked on-line through lastminute.com and thought we got a great bargain. The small print told us we had to pay an extra €40.00 per day, which we eventually decided was still a good price. When we got there we had to pick between a breakfast or time in their "spa" (a steam room and a sauna...that's it) for our €40.00... More

The hotel was great. I bought a trip to Rome for my partners christmas pressie. We are both well travelled people and my father was an airline pilot so needless to say i have stayed in many hotels before. I booked directly with the hotel which i advise you to do. I had a package deal consisting of picking up... More

This was rated as 4 star but is far from it. Greeted with an initial frosty reception from the concierge who has clearly become jaded with the hospitality industry he became temporarily nicer when I asked to change rooms. My first non smoking room smelled of smoke and there was a glass half filled with beer and cigarette ends on... More

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and would recommend it for it's clean and characterful rooms, friendly staff and it's views from the roof terrace where breakfast is served. The traffic noise is noticeable during the evening and morning, however, I imagine it would be difficult to find a peaceful hotel anywhere near the centre of Rome.

We were concerned by some of the negative reviews posted after we had made our reservation. What we found was totally different. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was modern. Complimentary breakfast was served on the rooftop - a nice way to start the day. We arrived at the... More

This was my very first trip to Rome and second time for my partner and it was a real dream of mine to visit. I chose the Romanico Palace because it professed to be a really good quality 4* hotel with great service. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. The hotel emailed me two weeks before the trip to ask if... More

I booked three nights at the Hotel Romanico Palace, but on arrival, I was told they did not have an open room. They booked us at another sister hotel (the terrible Anglo Americano) and told us to check back later that evening or in the morning to see if there was an open room. While they paid for the taxi,... Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
