Beautiful hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Very clean. Good breakfast. Reasonably close to city centre but bring walking shoes or use taxis, nearest metro is a 10 minute walk. Very close to Spanish Steps and Trevi foiuntain. We taxied to Vatican and Colosseum. Taxi fares are reasonable though. My only complaint was that access to the spa was on a pre- booked basis so you couldn't just pop in for a sauna and you had to pay 100 euro for the privilege!!!
nothing to do with the hotel as such but the location is fairly isolated from everything you would want to see or do in Rome. The room I had 322 was nice enough, very clean and slightly resembled the pictures. First time ever in my near 60 years that the room curtains were closed and on opening the curtains found out the windows were blacked out, full view was air conditioning units, windows not clean and below what looked like a builders yard, There is a mini bar with no price list. there are no tea or coffee facilities nor an iron in the room. The roof top restaurant is lovely but unfortunately does not not have a bar or restaurant to enjoy its location at any time other than breakfast, Breakfast was only served till 10.00 am which in general is fine but after a long night maybe 11.00 at weekends would be good. No room service that I know of. The breakfast as such is self serve which is normal now and was very good. Now my real bug bearer.. IT IS NOT A SPA HOTEL. It is a hotel with a spa. the gym and spa are not included but you can use them for........100 euros each PER DAY. Yes each per day. All in all it was very clean, staff are lovely, I am not trying to put you off this hotel, I am only trying to make you aware that what you see and what you expect is not going to be what you get.…
This city break and the stay at this hotel was a Christmas present and I was so excited after looking at the beautiful photos on their website. Unfortunately, our room was surprisingly tiny, in fact, the smallest room I have ever stayed in at a supposedly 4* hotel. Our window overlooked an unkempt back yard, stealing the daylight. There was also a strange whiff of drains coming from it. A few bits and pieces within the room could have done with being repaired or even better exchanged and there were extremely annoying, noisy building works going on in the hotel. Cleanliness was fine. Staff were very friendly, unfortunately, due to the roof bar being closed, any interaction with them was reduced to breakfast, check in and out. Breakfast buffet is okay, being served on the 7th floor with an amazing view of the city. We didn't use the wellness/Spa area, as I thought it was completely overpriced (most of the services should be included, considering they claim to be 4* establishment) and we were busy enough doing touristy stuff. The location of the hotel is pretty good, situated in the nicer part of Lazio, away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, but still within walking distance. I will definitely return to Rome, would I return to Hotel Romanico Palace? Probably not.…
Positives - good location for sightseeing, quiet location, helpful/pleasant staff, very clean, quirky decor, comfortable bed, lovely views from rooftop restaurant. Negatives - room a bit small, no tea/coffee facilities in room, hotel lacks a heart (bar area is soulless and too brightly lit), breakfast milk not chilled, toaster painfully slow, hot water in urn not hot enough for tea/coffee, rooftop bar not open.
From the moment we walked into this hotel we were welcomed by the staff who were professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were very clean and quiet and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast had a wide range of choice. In terms of location it was a 15 minute walk from the Trevor Fountain and close to a number of excellent restaurants.
The hotel is in a good location just away from the hustle and bustle but near enough to walk to a lot of the attractions. The staff were polite and friendly. Unfortunately we were really disappointed with this hotel. The first run we were given on the second floor, overlooking the road, had an awful drain smell on entering the room. After using the toilet it was apparent that the toilet was leaking. I rang reception who sent a posted to look who tried telling us that it was water from the toilet brush (which it wasn’t) by which time the water was flooding out and we were walking toilet water into the bedroom area. I asked to move rooms and we were then given an inner first floor room. This smelled sweeter on entering the room, however the curtains were closed. On opening the curtains we were greeted with netting and pipes! Possibly the worst view I have had in a hotel! The hotel was described as being full of antique furniture, however I would describe it as being newer, shabby chic type, tired furniture. There were silver fish on the floor of our bedroom and even crawling up the wall. Although we didn’t spend that much time in our room in the day…on the occasions that we did, there was constant drilling going on coming from nearly. The walls of the rooms are very thin and was noisy when people were going through the corridors. The Continental breakfast was ok. Nice views across Rome . The roof top bar was also not open. This is definitely not a four star hotel…and is more of a2/3 star.…
Just back from four fantastic nights in Romanico Hotel ,place was great ,All staff were friendly and welcoming nothing was any trouble they gave us great recomdations for resturants nearby. Only a short walk to spanish steps trevy fountain and number seven bus stop for the Big Bus city tour which is highly recomended. All in all Rome is a beautiful city, but this hotel and staff are fantastic, highly recomended
The hotel is in a great place for all the major attractions. There are also some great restaurants near by … Harry’s bar to name one. The hotel bedrooms are very comfortable and the staff are amazing. Recommend yes every time .
We went for a romantic weekend away. We are both very well travelled. The hotel is in a lovely quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of the city which was perfect for us. Its clean and tidy the staff are super friendly and helpful. The breakfast room is beautifully located on the 7th floor so you get an amazing view. We were disappointed the roof bar wasn't open, it wasn't cold and people were asking for it to be open. The hotel bar lacks atmosphere and to use the spa was SO expensive 100 euros per person. There is no tea or coffee facilities in the room at all and it was £10.00 for a pot of tea for 2 in the hotel bar. Overall its a good hotel to leave your bag and sleep at, but not one we would spend a lot of time at sadly as it could be exactly that as it has the potential.…
We stayed at the Romanico Palace after winning a holiday voucher in a competition and whilst we enjoyed our trip overall, we agreed that we were relieved it was free/would never pay money to stay here again. The decor is quirky and fun (think Vegas does Ancient Rome...), it is well located for all the tourist hotspots with good transport links, the staff were friendly and the room was clean. Unfortunately the walls are EXTREMELY thin so it’s hard to relax as you can constantly hear noise from other guests and staff at all hours - worst of all there were construction works going on during our stay with hammering and pneumatic drilling that sounded like it was IN OUR ROOM from 7:30am throughout the day…Luckily we were only there for two nights and were out touristing pretty hard during the day so didn’t spend a lot of time in the room, but we were unable to sleep well at night or nap in the afternoon when we got back from exploring due to the horrendous sound. The room was also absolutely freezing cold and the only option to warm it up was an old fashioned fan heater setting on the air con unit, which made the room stuffy and dry. We had a night cap at the bar one night and the wine tasted horrible and was overpriced, especially compared to what’s on offer in all the amazing cafes, bars and restaurants elsewhere in the city. The decor in the hotel bar is fun and themed but the harsh lighting was turned up to full, giving it the atmosphere of a school canteen. We enjoyed our trip to Rome despite the low quality hotel and can’t really complain considering we didn’t pay for it, but would definitely look at staying elsewhere as and when we return in future!…
