We stayed here in Feb 2023. The staff were really welcoming upon arrival. We stayed in deluxe studio with balcony. The room was lovely, very clean, with a large comfortable bed, beautifully decorated and lovely large bathroom with shower. You order your breakfast each evening at your preferred half hour time interval between 7.30-10.30am for the following morning. You can order items at additional cost but we didn’t as you have plenty of items on continental options and there was so much we couldn’t eat it all. Breakfast is delivered to your room which was lovely. There is a fridge/mini bar in your room and bar on the lower level with honesty box. The room is cleaned daily to a high standard and all the staff were so helpful be it with local recommendations and directions, to booking restaurants or delivery of ice to your room etc. The hotel is in a great location, very close to Trevi, Spanish steps and Pantheon and around 20 minute walk to Colosseum. Highly recommend.

Spent 3 nights here with two of my young daughters. Fabulous service from all the staff we met. The room was spacious, very clean and well equipped. The bed was super comfy in fact I would love to know the Make of the mattress if possible? Breakfast delivered daily to the room was always delivered at the time we requested and was very nice! Kids loved the little pots of Nutella!

Brilliant location...can walk to all the main tourist attractions.

If we come back to Rome we will definitely be staying here again!

Absolutely fantastic hotel ideally situated within the heart of the city. We spent 2 nights over the May bank holiday weekend and although the hotel is small as most city hotels are, the quality of the rooms, cleanliness, helpfulness of the staff and amenities were second to none. The bathroom was spacious and had luxury toiletries from Bulgari too. What makes Corso 281 even better is the location with all the major attractions such as the Alter of the Fatherland, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and the Spanish steps all within 10-20 mins walk away so no need for expensive taxis or public transport. We took a train to the Vatican City which required a walk to Barberini metro station which although was around 15 mins away we pleasantly stumbled across the Trevi fountain along our way.
Breakfast is served in your room by ordering your choices the day before which was actually really handy as you can select your times and works with small children better. The only drawback was the usual hot breakfast items such as eggs were not included in the standard breakfast menu and required additional payment.

I would also like to give a special mention to Mariam and Sara at the hotel reception who were amazing and always welcoming when we arrived and extremely helpful with our many questions. They always went above and beyond to help us find the best ways around Rome and were always available for a friendly chat.

I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this hotel for couples and even young families like ourselves travelling with 2 kids!

The only perk of this hotel is location. Aside from that the service was disgraceful.

Cold water!!!
The last night of staying at this hotel. I was in the shower, only for the water to go freezing cold. My husband phoned reception to be advised that there was a boiler issue and to check again in 15minutes. 30 minutes later the water was still cold. My husband phoned down again only to be told that the engineer will be arriving the following morning and to wait till the morning to shower. Upon checkout we were advised that the hotel boiler did not have the capacity to offer hot water when alot of the rooms were showering at the same time!

Extremely hot room- the temperature is controlled from reception and we had a sleepless night for all 4 nights due to the scorching temperature in the room! We were advised that the ac is switched off during the winter months!

Housekeeping
Extremely poor. Amenities were not topped up on a daily basis. There were flies in our room. Old mouldy fruit which hadn't been taken away. Breakfast requests were not listened too.

Management were rude unhelpful and extremely defensive when we complained.

Front office staff could not understand english properly

Never again!!!

Dear Guest , as you can read in all other reviews posted from our guests , my answers always start thanking them for the time they spent on Tripadvisor leaving honest memories, suggestions and impressions of our hotel. I am doing the same today with you, even if for the first time we received a very negative review. First, I do apologize as the Corso 281 Luxury Suites Owner and General Manager, for the unfortunate experience you had with us and I really would like to better understand what we missed in our customer care satisfaction. My ideal is giving to all my guests a tailor made service focus on their requests. Me and my entire team take so much pride in our work and we spend all our single days to realize higher standards of excellence. They are the backbone of the hotel and without their excellent efforts; we would simply cease to exist. I am really apologize to have missed the opportunity to meet you during the inconvenient occurred, in order to provide you with the accurate solution to make your experience more comfortable. Once again with the promise to improve our attitude in service from our mistakes. I really wish you would take the time to contact me directly, so that we can speak about your unfortunate stay. Sincerely, Natalino Gisonna Owner and General Manager ngisonna@corso281.com

PLEASE READ.
I made a reservation for a 3 night stay through the hotel website since it included free upgrade and free transfer to the airport.
Once I checked in, I was told that no upgrade was available and the airport transfer was not included. I then showed a picture I had taken of the hotel’s webpage on the day I made a reservation showing exactly what I was asking about. The receptionist then said that she would contact the manager, who is also the owner to check. For three days I asked for an update and every time I was told that the airport transfer was not included. Apparently it was only valid for February even though it did not say so. For three days I asked to talk to the owner, but he was never available to talk to me.
I was dismissed and belittled every time I asked for an update. Without a doubt, this was the worst customer service I have ever experienced in any hotel.
While checking out I cried while my two teenage daughters watched in disbelief. This was not about the money, it was the principle of feeling disrespected and cheated. How could they refuse to cover a $60 Airport transfer when my bill was almost $1,700 (and it was supposed to be included). I don’t believe my husband would have been treated the same way had he been traveling with us.
I give one star for the location. Room is tiny with no room for storage and breakfast is mediocre at best. Bread, pastry, sliced cheese and sliced ham. Everything else is extra.
Curious to see if owner will respond to this review as he was not available to talk to me for the 3 days I was there.

When we arrived in our (very cramped) room, we immediately noticed how dirty it was - there were even holes in the curtains. We then ordered room service, which was also terrible.

We decided to leave in the morning and checked out. A few days we later found out that the hotel hadn't checked us out and charged us for the full four nights. They then claimed no knowledge and refused to refund anything. Totally dishonest.

This hotel was the worst, I would never stay there again.

Let’s start with the location….could not be better. Centrally located in Rome and easy walking to any area in Rome for our family of six. The staff was very accommodating and assisted with all our needs, including glueing my 4 year olds broken toy. Continental breakfast every morning is brought to your room. You can order additional items for an extra charge. You can select the time of delivery. The rooms were updated and very clean. The rooms were a little small but what we would expect in old European city. I would definitely stay here again on our next trip.

Having read some negative reviews on here we slightly worried we would be disappointed on arrival but we should have just ignored everything we read as this place is AMAZING! The welcome was warm and friendly, our bags carried to our room, and on entering we were hit by a wave of very welcoming air con! A clean, spacious room with a super king bed..we couldn’t have asked for more. We were in a deluxe suite overlooking the Via del Corso, with a fantastic view of the Altar of the Fatherland, and at night we couldn’t hear any traffic or noise so we slept brilliantly. The shower was large and powerful which was ideal after a long day of walking. We got engaged whilst away and the staff left us a lovely note and bottle of Prosecco in our room and gave us a round of applause on arrival back post proposal. I genuinely couldn’t recommend this hotel enough - my partner has said this is our now go to hotel when in Rome - and I agree! I would like to pass on my praise to your wonderful staff - they represent your hotel well and are always there to help. Thank you again .. we will be back!

Usually when visiting europe we stay at big 5 star hotels with large reception areas, restaurants, etc.. but we decided to try something different and Corso 281 caught my eye. From the warm greeting (everytime in or out) to the best level of service possible we were ecstatic. Our suite was with a modern large bathroom, sitting area and the most comfortable King bed on earth with fine linens. We were served breakfast in our room which was excellent. Loved the location because we walked everywhere - even after a few bottles of fine Italian wine! IF you are looking for a great stay and great night's sleep we highly recommend Corso 281.

This is a wonderful boutique hotel in the best location in Rome. We stayed for 5 nights in a very clean, comfortable suite. The staff was attentive and friendly and helpful whenever you needed it. If you’re looking for an American-type experience then this probably isn’t for you, but to me is what made it so great. Breakfast every morning in the continental European style for me and my daughter was so nice and more than enough, with additions such as yogurt, cereal and cappuccino available at no extra cost. We stayed in a suite with a balcony that overlooked the back, with a view of the back of other buildings and patios. It was a nice place to drink coffee or rest in the afternoon. Honor bar on the lowest level was a nice touch. The lobby is tiny and so is the elevator but it is an old building full of charm. Would stay again for sure. We were able to walk everywhere in Rome we wanted to go from here, even the Vatican (although it is a little far). Thank you to the staff for a lovely stay!

There is a fixed price taxi from the airport - 45 E I believe. No shuttle. Be certain to get a city taxi at fixed price Others charge much more. It’s worth the price right to Corso’s front door
