We had an absolutely fabulous stay at Corso281, location is perfect we were able to practically walk everywhere. Staff was great, everyone was so nice and polite. I looked forward to the breakfast and cappuccinos every morning, we will definitely be back.
The hotel only has 6 rooms so the service is outstanding. No restaurant but room service is available and the food was terrific. It is so close to dozens of restaurants, shopping and many of the famous sites. One thing, there were only 4-5 channels on the TV, but we weren't in the room much anyway
Having read some negative reviews on here we slightly worried we would be disappointed on arrival but we should have just ignored everything we read as this place is AMAZING! The welcome was warm and friendly, our bags carried to our room, and on entering we were hit by a wave of very welcoming air con! A clean, spacious room with a super king bed..we couldn’t have asked for more. We were in a deluxe suite overlooking the Via del Corso, with a fantastic view of the Altar of the Fatherland, and at night we couldn’t hear any traffic or noise so we slept brilliantly. The shower was large and powerful which was ideal after a long day of walking. We got engaged whilst away and the staff left us a lovely note and bottle of Prosecco in our room and gave us a round of applause on arrival back post proposal. I genuinely couldn’t recommend this hotel enough - my partner has said this is our now go to hotel when in Rome - and I agree! I would like to pass on my praise to your wonderful staff - they represent your hotel well and are always there to help. Thank you again .. we will be back!…
Corso 281 has been exactly as we expected - nice rooms with comfortable beds, fantastic location, helpful and kind staff. The breakfast - served in room - is simple but sufficient. The bathrooms are spacious with nice towels, and each room has a minibar fridge/freezer, which is nice when the weather is as hot as it has been during our July 2022 visit. We were given several restaurant recommendations by the front desk, all of which met our requests well, and they quickly arranged taxis for us when needed (for our family of 5, so needed to be larger taxis). I can definitely recommend the hotel - especially for the perfect location at the center of “tourist Rome.”
PLEASE READ. I made a reservation for a 3 night stay through the hotel website since it included free upgrade and free transfer to the airport. Once I checked in, I was told that no upgrade was available and the airport transfer was not included. I then showed a picture I had taken of the hotel’s webpage on the day I made a reservation showing exactly what I was asking about. The receptionist then said that she would contact the manager, who is also the owner to check. For three days I asked for an update and every time I was told that the airport transfer was not included. Apparently it was only valid for February even though it did not say so. For three days I asked to talk to the owner, but he was never available to talk to me. I was dismissed and belittled every time I asked for an update. Without a doubt, this was the worst customer service I have ever experienced in any hotel. While checking out I cried while my two teenage daughters watched in disbelief. This was not about the money, it was the principle of feeling disrespected and cheated. How could they refuse to cover a $60 Airport transfer when my bill was almost $1,700 (and it was supposed to be included). I don’t believe my husband would have been treated the same way had he been traveling with us. I give one star for the location. Room is tiny with no room for storage and breakfast is mediocre at best. Bread, pastry, sliced cheese and sliced ham. Everything else is extra. Curious to see if owner will respond to this review as he was not available to talk to me for the 3 days I was there.…
Stayed here for 1 night in June 2022. Hotel is in the heart of Rome and easy walking distance to most of the major tourist sites. Rooms are modern and stylish. Highly recommend based on location, style of hotel, and hotel friendliness.
Let’s start with the location….could not be better. Centrally located in Rome and easy walking to any area in Rome for our family of six. The staff was very accommodating and assisted with all our needs, including glueing my 4 year olds broken toy. Continental breakfast every morning is brought to your room. You can order additional items for an extra charge. You can select the time of delivery. The rooms were updated and very clean. The rooms were a little small but what we would expect in old European city. I would definitely stay here again on our next trip.
My colleagues and I checked in on the 23rd Nov evening and checked out on the 27th Nov afternoon. The room and location were great. The only thing that ruined the entire stay was the front office lady Claudia (unless she gave me a fake name when I asked for it) When we checked in, we were briefed by the lady, Claudia, that for the breakfast it was included and that we could order one egg per person (we had four pax in our room btw). Any additional eggs we ordered would be charged. We are extremely sure as all of us heard it. Every morning, we only ordered four eggs (one egg per person). When we checked out, she did not even presenting to me to the room charges and rushed to ask for my credit card - charging it 481 euros quickly. Of which, 200 euros were for the eggs that we were told on check-in day that were included. The best part was that the eggs tasted quite bad and pathetic too. When I approached her about it during check-out, She gave the worst attitude ever. I used to work for Luxury Hotels before I started a Venture Capital and I have stayed in countless countless 5-star hotels. But to-date, this is by far was one of the worst service I have received in my life. The lady Claudia was not only rude and nonchalant but she kept refusing to do anything about it (with zero service recovery) From my line of work, staff with such service should never belong in the hotel industry. The sum is not huge. But it really reflects the dishonesty of the service staff and it is extremely distasteful. She only apologised it was her mistake at the end. But she did not do anything about the erroneous charges. Nonetheless, the other staff like the Filipino Bell-Boy and other ladies had great service. They were extremely helpful and kind with their assistance. When we were charged for the eggs, the bell-boy recognised the injustice and agreed with us our situation as well. The property should really focus on better service recovery to prevent such a distasteful Definitely the worst service attitude I have received from a so-called 5 star so far.…
I stayed with my daughter , the hotel location is perfect to tour the old city 5-10 minutes walk from all the attraction. The room is good , the bad comfortable and there’s a good coffee machine The best thing about the hotel is the service of the staff , I don’t remember staying in a hotel where everyone is so nice and helpful but above all I’d like to mention Marzia she is the nicest and most helpful person I encountered in any hotel I stayed in. The breakfast is also good , a bit strange that it’s being served to the room but probably because of Covid All in all a great stay in a good hotel Thank you
What a fantastic stay we had. From check in where they greeted us warmly, to the best restaurant recommendation (Emma!) to a thoughtful and full in suite breakfast that was included. Beautiful rooms and spacious bathrooms. We had a lovely balcony and were surprised how quiet it was considering the location could not be better. It is a chic, quiet hotel- mostly understated white and marble in a beautiful old building. Could not recommend it more. Perfect place to stay in Rome.
