This hotel is unique, in a good way. The welcome is second to none, nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Free air conditioning and bar was very impressive. There was everything that you need for a very comfortable stay, excellent mattresses, just like home. Michele, the owner, is wonderful. he take a great deal of time to ensure... More

Where do I start! The sunny and warm welcome, luggage carried up the flight of stairs, a full itinerary including walking tours, where to eat, where to have coffee, what food to eat in each place, maps, sit down chats with the owner with photos, little tips and tricks to get around, best times to go to different places, places... Recently had the wonderful experience of Hotel Pensione Barrett. The hotel itself sets your heart and soul for your Rome adventure. Only surpassing this special location and atmosphere, is it's owner Michele. He is a historian of his city who very generously takes his time to share his passion. We learned from him, which gave us the opportunity to explore... More

WOW! We had a WONDERFUL stay at this hotel. From finding the location behind grand old doors, it resides in a 14th century building on top of the grounds where Julius Caesar was assassinated. You feel like you are living in a history book! The characteristics of the hotel were so unique and charming. Michael the owner, went above and... More

I was so thrilled to return to the Pensione Barrett! Just entering the lobby made me feel right at home. Impossible as I thought it might be, this visit was even more wonderful. My husband was along this time and we had a great room with a king size bed. The room was decorated with colorful tiles and Roman art.... More

This is truly a unique hotel and experience. It was in an excellent location. Very easy to walk and see most of the attractions of Rome. The owners are truly delightful and provide wonderful ideas on how to enjoy Rome. The Pensione part of the accommodation was fine. Very small room. Would stay again the next time we come to... More

I stayed at Hotel Barrett for a week in June while in Rome for a conference, but I would happily stay there any time! This is a very special place, unlike any hotel I have stayed at (and I travel a lot). The decor is a wonderfully over-the-top tribute to all things Roman, with fountains and vines in the lobby... Nice little hotel in Central Rome. Close to almost everything. Easy to get to/from airport. With train and tram. Every room has special decoration. Friendly and helpful staff. This was second time to Rome. And we stayed at same hotel last time. + for cofee/tea maker in room and lots of diffrent small snacks. Only thing I missed was a... More

I stayed at this Pensione for three nights during my trip to Rome and I would highly recommend staying there. The location, staff, rooms were all just perfect! Location was extremely central and was close enough to get to most of the monuments/sights in just matter of minutes. Even the Vatican was only 20-25 mins on the bus! Rooms were... More

Michael and his staff (family) at Hotel Pensione Barrett were amazingly welcoming, and it is a unique and interesting place to stay. We stayed for four nights, never having been to Rome before, and travelling 24+ hours from Australia. It was all very overwhelming, but the staff at Hotel Pensione Barrett made the transition easy. So people are aware, there... More

Navona / Pantheon / Campo de’ Fiori
With three of Rome’s most beloved piazzas within a five-minute walk of each other, the Navona/Pantheon/Campo area may be the prettiest and most picturesque area of the city. Join the beautiful throngs hanging out in cafes, boutiques, art galleries, and wine bars, or peek at a neighborhood museum or monument. If you want nonstop movida, the streets here are busy with chic bicyclists and Vespa drivers, street vendors, merchants, and locals.
