Residence Candia is conveniently located close to the Vatican Museum and is generally clean (although bedspreads were NOT). It has a variety of room options that are well suited to family groups with kids or students in Rome for study abroad. That said, the students who flock to this hotel are noisy at all hours of the night, making sleep... More

This property was well below American Standards. The rooms were dated and unconfortable. We very much felt as if we were staying in a dorm room atmosphere with all the students about. The staff was friendly and warm but the accommodations really set for an uncomfortable stay.

This is my second stay at Residence Candia. It's is nothing fancy but for me it has everything I like and need. Including free wifi and refrigerator and coffee maker toaster dishes etc. Aldo at the front desk speaks some English and was very helpful with directions. It's a five minute walk to the Vatican. The Metro is like blocks... More

It was like a tight dorm for teens. This is a student residence facility where noise goes on thru the night. People partying and having a good time. People at the front desk were very helpful. The location was ok. Walking distance to the Vatican. The bathroom was very clean. That's what mattered most to me.

Apartment was clean, comfortable beds, two full bathrooms, very small but functional kitchen. Short walk to the Vatican. Great way for the entire family to be together. Front desk very helpful. Held our luggage our last morning so we could go on a tour and come back and grab our bags later in the day. There was noise on the... More

This is a very well localized place, just one block away from the Vatican Museum. It is very easy to move around since the metro and the bus station are close to the hotel. The room that I stayed looked like new clean with full kitchen equipped. The staff is not only efficient - they are also very kind. They... More

The rooms are fine, but the noise is not worth the stay!! If you want to be woken up by loud screaming college kids, or wake up early in the morning to constant construction going on in the building, come here! It's great if you want to experience paper thin walls and terrible internet that doesn't work!! i assume it... More

Stayed at this residence twice; once in 2002 and another in 2014. Based on my 2002 visit, I decided to stay at the same residence the following visit. I remember that in 2002, the apartment was spacious with a kitchen and a bathroom and a bedroom and a living-room with a sleeping couch. However, when I went back in 2014,... More

We took our family of four back to Rome after an unfinished visit 8yrs ago. Residence Candia is very well located for exploring Rome with self catering facilities which suited us well. My husband and I had a 9-day vacation in Rome and stayed here. Our room was big with attached kitchen (that we used everyday to cook breakfast) and big windows. One lady staff speaks English that was awesome however other staff talks to us in Italian. The room gets cleaned everyday but they don't wash the dishes. The aircon seems... More
